"On 02/23/24 I ordered an electric range and microwave from the SW Omaha Store #1184, and on 02/24/24 I returned to the store and ordered a washer and dryer plus 2 pedestals. I paid for delivery on all of the items but I chose to install the microwave myself. I was notified when the washer, dryer and pedestals were due to be delivered and I waited at home for them. They never arrived on the day I was told and when I phoned Lowes I was told that the delivery guys had said that I wasn’t home, this was untrue as I hadn’t left the house all day. The delivery was then re-scheduled for 2 days later. When they came I was told by the delivery guys that the wrong pedestals had been sent but they went ahead and hooked up the washer and dryer. After contacting Lowes, I was told that the pedestals weren’t incorrect and a crew would be around next day to install them on the machines. The crew came the next day and they told me that they couldn’t install the pedestals because they didn’t have the shipping bolts for the washer. After contacting Lowes, I was told that another crew would be around the next day to install the pedestals. The crew came, installed the pedestals without needing shipping bolts and they swopped the position of the washer and dryer so that the doors were better orientated. This crew did a great job and after 4 attempts and 4 different days I had the washer/dryer and pedestals installed. A week or so later, I was informed that the electric range and microwave would be delivered. They came as scheduled and the electric range was installed and the delivery guys left without testing any functions of the range. I then noticed there wasn’t even a digital clock flashing and when I opened the oven door there was no light. I looked at the circuit breaker on the main panel in my basement and saw that it had tripped. I phoned Lowes and they suggested that it may be the circuit breaker but they would send somebody round the next day to take a look. I am a retired electrical superintendent and I decided to investigate the matter myself. When I removed the cover to the connections on the back of the range I saw that the 50A plug and cord supplied by Lowes had been incorrectly connected to the oven. The black wire and white wire were crossed between the cord and the oven and this resulted in a dead short between a hot leg and ground which tripped the breaker. I corrected the connections myself. I went to Lowes, showed them the photo that I’d taken and they told me that they would take this up with the delivery manager. I returned home and noticed that the guys hadn’t installed the rear grille on the range and they hadn’t installed the anti-tip bracket either. The next day I phoned Lowes and told them that I would install the items myself and I wouldn’t need the delivery guys to come around again. I also explained that they should have personnel who are trained and qualified to make electrical connections in someones house, otherwise they could end up with a fire, an electric shock or even an exploding circuit breaker if someone tries to reset it too many times when it is in a dead short condition. The delivery of the washer and dryer was bad, but the connection of the electric range was not only wrong, but potentially dangerous. Lowes needs to do a lot better than this. Responding to the Lowes reply below. I phoned the given number twice. The first time I couldn’t get by the automated answering robot but on the second attempt I was able to only to be told that the wait time to speak to an associate was 30 minutes. Yes, Lowes are really pulling out all of the stops to regain my confidence If Lowes was really concerned they would phone me, text me or email me. I don’t have an annoying automated answering robot ."
"Lowe's on 180th and center has once again proven itself to be a hot mess of a store. Last night (March 9, 2024) we picked up a Moen bathroom accessory set to install for a customer this morning. After attaching the towel ring to the wall, the customer noticed it was covered in sharpie marks. Upon closer inspection, it appears there was an attempt to (poorly) conceal scratches on the item from being dropped or scraped. This set was on sale, and it was the last one of its kind in matte black. Based on the condition of the packaging, it obviously had been bought and returned. Thinking that shouldn't be a big deal, we bought it anyway. Bad move. Now we will either have to return it and look elsewhere for a matching replacement, or ACTUALLY cover the damage by removing it from the wall and using a proper spray paint-- which we will have to purchase out of pocket of course. Not to mention the additional time spent on the clock to deal with Lowe's mistakes. highly recommend NOT buying an item from this store if it appears to have been opened-- the staff clearly does not inspect for damage before putting returned products back on their shelves (and that's generously assuming it wasn't the Lowe's staff themselves who damaged the item and tried to cover it up) We also bought a bathroom storage shelf last night for this same job. Due to the package having been very obviously opened up and taped together, we will likely be returning it and shopping somewhere else to avoid potentially installing MORE damaged items in our customer's bathroom."
"Apparently when you buy Christmas lights at Lowes any lights you want to return need to be returned by Christmas Eve. Learned of this today on a board that was hanging on the wall by customer service. To read this board you had to be within 10-12 ft of it! What customer when going to purchase Christmas lights is going to think “Hey I better stop over at customer service and read all the fine print hanging on the walls”. Also, when I arrived with the lights a lady further back in customer service says “is that lights again?” As in I am not the only customer who got scammed! Clearly Lowes is being deceitful when multiple customers are having issues. What a joke and a way to force unnecessary sales customers. Do better Lowes. Quite the scam. Add on. I asked if could hold the lights until next holiday season. Lady behind desk said that would work but you would be outside of the 90 day return window. She said “Im sorry about this” to which I replied “oh please don’t apologize. It’s not your fault. Lowes puts the policies in place.” This is nothing but a scam."
"Great selection, great price. My go-to hardware store. Associates are very helpful when I have a question or can't find what I need. End of September and the Christmas decor is already out. Love the selection of Craftsman tools"
"I love the flowers at Lowe's. And they always have discounts in the back. the flower center is pretty much closed down, except for some random Moms and annuals that are half price. I will be one of the first ones there in the early Spring."
