"Holy Cow, you don't experience this level of service very often. I was given a modestly priced mountain bike with a broken part. I like fixing things, so I jumped in. I called the manufacturer and the original store and neither of them had the capacity or will to help me. After searching around for a while, I came across Modern Bike. I spoke on the phone with Steve for 22 minutes, that's a long time to spend with one customer looking for a $30 part. Steve and I walked through the information on the bike so he could identify the part I needed. I was up on the shop table counting gear ratios for 4 gears and making note of the various features on the bike so Steve could ensure I had the right part. I wish I lived closer and needed anything bike related, I would be there in a heart beat. Steve is dedicated to his craft, has a vast knowledge of his trade, and a heart of service. Top notch service, somebody give this guy a raise."

"Just okay. Sometimes great, other times a dud. Occasionally they have prices on certain high end MTB and fat bike components that are far better than competitors….other times they have missing stock for weeks/months….free shipping on some orders is nice but be prepared to wait a week before they even assign a tracking number….not always, but sometimes. Just don’t make plans for a bike assembly a couple of days after ordering, cuz you never know. The entire Modern Bike shopping experience is hit or miss. They definitely seem a bit overextended. It’s Iowa. What the hell did you expect?"

"I am in the process of refurbing/restomodding my 30-year old Schwinn "steelie" road bike and decided to step into the 90's, soooooo, I ordered the 4.5mm spacer to convert an 8/9/10 spd hub for use with a 7 spd cassette, actually, I ordered two just in case they go out of production. My inspiration is a Tuskegee Airmen Red Tail P-51C Mustang...check it out. At any rate, scheduled delivery was 13 Aug 18 and, lo and behold, they arrived today...fabulous. And this even with a glitch on my part that delayed shipment - perhaps it could have been here yesterday, the 10th of August? Communication with ModernBike throughout the process was excellent and very much appreciated. Overall, an outstanding experience and will most assuredly look to ModernBike for future cycling needs."

"Bought a pair of Arkel Dry-Lites Panniers. Lightweight, waterproof, works like dry bags I'm used to while kayaking and backpacking. Used them for a week-long cycling trip. Each one fit one pair keens, one change cycling clothes, two changes street clothes, and small shower kit (toothbrush, sun screen, etc). Summer gear only. Worked perfectly."
