"Mikee B Is dreamy. The rest of the bar isn't bad either. I hate the rest of the east village now that it's all foo foo. Glad this place stays as a thorn in its side!"
"Hey Leisha, I’m one of the bartenders who cut you off. I just wanted to address some of your review. 1) You say that you planned on tipping after your second round. Curiously, the reason we knew you stiffed us was because you closed your bill and emphasized the line through the tip section. Tabs are generally signed and closed when someone is finished…not halfway through their experience. 2) You never explained anything. What you DID do was stand there mumbling that your family owned a bar and pretended like you were calling someone. To which I’ll repeat what I said then “If your family owns a bar then you should definitely know better.” You’re just upset that you were called out publicly and guess what? I’mma do it again."
"Went here after a show and ordered drinks. We didn’t tip knowing we would get another round and tip at the end. When we went back up to the bar they refused to serve us because we didn’t tip for the first round. When I tried to explain the kept asking for more money first or to leave. Very rude people."
"Eh…was probably a cool place back in the day. High end of beer and a shot prices in my DM bar stops. No ambience what so ever unless writing on the wall does it for you. Bartender did a decent job and prices were on par with the neighborhood. I try LT at night sometime to see why people go there if they even do."
"My friend and I have regularly frequented this establishment and up until now have had nothing but good times there. Today, however, was a little bit different. We walked in around 3:00 in the afternoon on a Tuesday. There were a couple of other patrons at the bar. My friend and I made our way back to the pool table to play a game or two. This was very typical for us to come in and head towards the table. While setting our things down, the other patrons had started to head out. The usual bartender (a masculine-presenting person with long hair) approached us and asked to see our IDs. This was odd, as we had not even approached the bar to order drinks. I had my ID, but my friend had forgotten his wallet at home. My friend and I had discussed this prior to coming to Locust Tap and thought that it wasn’t a big deal since we really just wanted to play some pool. Plus, the usual bartender had served us before at that time and knew who we were. We proceeded to tell the bartender that my friend did not have his ID and that we just wanted to play some pool. The bartender proceeded to tell us that the pool table was for customers only, and that we needed to buy drinks if we wanted to play. This had never been the case in the past when we have come to play, and the bartender did not say that this was a newly implemented rule of the bar. At some point during this ordeal, tipping came up, and the bartender told us, “You didn’t tip last time.” First of all, my friend and I strongly believe in tipping, and tipping well. If we had really not tipped the time before, it was honest mistake. However, if the bartender remembered that we had not tipped the last time we were there, why would they need to see our IDs in the first place? This felt very off and honestly, quite targeted towards my friend and I. We had never had any problems going in to play pool games in the past. Not sure if this bartender was having an off day, but that’s honestly no excuse for how we were treated today. We plan to take our business elsewhere, as there are many other options for bars in the area where we would never be treated like we were at Locust Tap."
