"We understood that when we booked this room that there was construction going on we didn't realize the amount of construction that was going on and everywhere that you went in the hotel. Regardless, if there was actual act of construction going on, it was dirty. The elevators were to say the best. Disgusting. We got up the next morning to shower and lo and behold. There was dirty washcloths in our shower in the shower had not been cleaned. When we arrived I went to the front desk. There was nobody there. Waited for a couple minutes for somebody to come out. The guy came out did something on the computer then asked me my name, told him my name and then he disappeared for about 5 minutes. Came back out. Handed me two keys and said this is your room number. Didn't have me sign any papers then asked to see my ID. Didn't ask for anything. I am a platinum elite member and I was not greeted as such when I came in which is one of their things that they are supposed to do. It's not about me having that status. It's about the fact that that's part of their policy when you have a status with that card that you are to be acknowledged as such when you arrive. When we were getting ready to leave in the morning I told the front desk clerk about the dirty washcloths and the room and she said oh sorry about that and then as I was walking out the door she very loudly laughed and said something snide to the person that was standing at the front desk and to me that is very unacceptable for a hotel. We stay very frequently in hotels and I can assure you that we will not be back to this one."
"Fantastic Holiday Inn with a delicious breakfast. Currently under construction on the 1st floor but employees are very accommodating. PROS: ■ Beds are very comfy ■ Newly Updated Rooms ■ Lots of parking ■ Truck and Trailer Friendly if you park in the back. ■ Amiable and caring employees CONS ■ Slow elevator ■ Under construction, so most amenities aren't available, such as the pool, meeting area, and gym. BUT...The hotel is updating, which is fantastic!!!"
"I wanted to write a review solely to call out the excellent customer service I received from the night auditor, Brittany. I was in Coralville with my daughters and their friends so they could attend a local concert. The concert got delayed and then cancelled. I had made a hotel reservation after the delay, and then once it was cancelled I tried to cancel my reservation (literally an hour or two after making the reservation). IHG was unable to get the front desk to cancel, and that employee was not friendly nor willing to work with us. I figured I was just out the money, but a half hour later Brittany called and was so polite and refunded my charges due to circumstances. Didn’t expect it, but so thankful for her and her customer service!"
"Absolutley horrible service! Michelle, Front Desk Clerk ,and Manager: Angela Corey, put over $400 on our credit card for no reason or receipts for transactions and without our knowledge. Then kicked us out of hotel at ,9:30am on game day, for asking for a receipt or explanation of charges. 4 professional ladies over the age of 40, that have never been kicked out of anything! We just on our annual girls trip to see our favorite team! SO VERY DISAPPOINTED! Side note... April and Chris( front desk clerks) were wonderful!"
"We have stayed here several times and keep coming back because of the cold ac and the location. The staff are always very friendly, more so than most. There are a few things we don't love- train tracks are across the street, the train comes through in the middle of the night and will wake you if you aren't a sound sleeper. The hotel has only 1 elevator and it is very slow. If you are on the top floor it can take 5+ minutes waiting, take the stairs if you can. Not much in the way of vending machines, and it doesn't have a little store like many others. Vending is cash only. The hotel has been updated some but you can tell it still needs a good amount of work."
