"We lived here for a couple of years, and it was not worth it for the price. The 3 beds 2 baths that we rented had A/C and heat issues in 2 rooms that we would have to have fans running in the summertime and space heaters in the winter. The garage would flood when it rained, and when the snow melted. They threatened to tow my vehicle from a spot where nobody parked, i even asked the neighbors if it was ok and they didn't care. I hope people stop renting here until they fix their stuff because nobody should live with these problems."

"I have been at the Mansions at Hemingway for year. I have been happy with management; particularly with maintenance. My water heater started leaking on a Friday afternoon. Maintenance responded quickly and replaced the hot water heater immediately. Such incredible service. It really doesn't happen very often these days. I am signing my second year lease this week."

"My husband and I lived here for 2 years and never really had any issues. The units themselves could use a nice updating (mainly cabinets and floors), but the stainless steel appliances and attached garages are great. The fenced in dog area is also nice too since it’s close to the clubhouse and the large grassy field. Other dog-owning residents are also super friendly. Our dog made tons of neighborhood friends while we lived here! I guess I can’t speak on other reviewer’s experiences, but we never had an issue with crime or felt unsafe. We would take frequent walks with our dog outside at night without any issues and no one ever tried to break into our unit or vehicles. I also wouldn’t say the walls are as thin as people mentioned because we never heard our neighbors and actually spoke to them at one point and they noted that they never heard our dog bark during the day. I can see why people would be frustrated with management turnover, I just suggest emailing them because we always got a speedy response from someone whenever we would send an email. If these units are in your price range, I would say it’s a great place to live. We lived in multiple different apartments while we lived in the DSM area and this was by far the nicest place we lived at!"

"My wife and I lived here for 1 year and were originally excited to move in. After a very short amount of time we realized we made a poor decision. Long story short, do not lease from this company. Townhomes are severely overpriced for the value. The neighborhood is unsafe due to the apartment complex located across the street. Multiple shootings and robberies happened while we were there, and the police were constantly on site. I didn’t feel comfortable letting my wife walk our dog alone at night, and was always worried about her safety when I had to travel for work. After moving out over a year ago, we just received a letter saying we were sent to collections. Neither of us were ever contacted regarding any fees owed to the company. The Property Manager who replaced Mallory also confirmed that we didn’t owe anything, and told us that we’d receive a check via mail for our deposit amount. We never received anything. If you want to rent from a company that are scam artists with expensive rent and a terrible environment then this is the place to go. I don’t think I’ve ever left a negative company review, because I prefer not to handle my concerns over the internet. However, this is a unique situation. I’d rather someone else avoid a repeat of our series of experiences while living there."

"The townhouses are beautiful and spacious. The staff is great. Very helpful and polite. The maintenance is always timely and they go above and beyond. The pool is amazing during the summer and so much outdoor room to walk your dog and play with the kiddos. Our neighbors were fantastic. Our townhouse we lived in was the Maria floor plan. It is a great floor plan since you are not above or below any other residents. Great place to live! Always clean and beautiful!"
