"Originally built in 1926 to house government workers of the US Territory of Hawaii in annexation times. Citizens of the Republic of Hawaii became American citizens of the Territory of Hawaii without the ability to vote in U.S. presidential elections. A Territorial Governor was appointed by the U.S. President and could be replaced at any time. Today, post statehood, the main common thing in the building to olden times are the government workers (not the originals) as the building houses multiple Hawaii State government offices & facilities."
