"Staff members are friendly and helpful. Nice selection for a small town. As with all Hawaii libraries, you can request any book in the system. If you're from out of state, get a temporary card for $10.00."
"They have a great library and are open till 7pm! And you can also find local AA meetings here 3-4x a week and great meeting on Saturday! Aloha Lorrie"
"Lovely little library. A serene spot in a small town. Plenty of workstations and a good collection of books. Loved the atmosphere and would come here again!"
"Aloha and Mahalo. I am thankful that there is a library available to the public here in Koloa. The workers are dedicated to providing good service. They are helpful when needed and kind. The two things that I would prefer include; treating everyone with respect regardless of age and education to understand that The a Library is a place of Learning and not everyone is on the same level. With that being said, I kindly ask for the librarians to not make one feel less smart due to a lack of describing things to one where explainations do not always connect whether it be a disconnect on the Librarians End or the lack of misunderstanding on the other ones End. Mahalo. Again, The Library is a place to Learn. And two, I kindly ask that upon time to finish up online work, the minutes to shut down are spoken less often as the reminder several times during that time is heavily distracting when one is trying to finish their work in that short time frame. Example: internet will be shutting off in 45 mins, 30mins, 10mins is helpful but still a bit much. But 45, 30, 20, 15, 10, 5 interrupts the focus of hurrying ones work and becomes stressful when talking the Entire time letting us know our time is up. I personally struggle with this and maybe others do too. 45min and 10min warning would be great. As I often only have time to go to the Library after work arriving at the Library at 3:45 and only have one hour to complete my work before the internet shuts off. This is where having the Library open on Wednesdays til 8pm convenient and I am thankful for that. Overall I am thankful to have the Library so close to home and available to use the internet as well as print things out as I do not have a printer or the internet at my house. My next thought is that I would prefer if the Librarians would not make one feel uncomfortable about donating money for the printer. I understand the cost of ink is high which is one reason I do not print at home. I definitely want to contribute to helping out by paying the small asked amount. However it makes me uncomfortable to see signs everywhere that say donation when really it is requested. I often walk in there unprepared without cash and still needing to print. I at times overpay one time to compensate for other times and now do my best at bringing my coin purse in my purse upon arrival because I do respect their request. It just stresses me out. Maybe over the goodness of my heart and my conscience. Another request would be for a longer borrowing time frame would be helpful to this whom take much longer to read a book in a two week time frame to where one month would be so much better and maybe having the possibility of having long term borrowings for certain people with certain rules, or something available for one whom is really interested in reading their book of choice and just can't finish it or do not want to be slapped with a big fine which I think is really steep especially after 2weeks being a few days late or a week being the charged the cost of the book. Time flies and a meaningful borrower with absolute intentions of returning it or re-borrowing the book(s) would be a wonderful consideration. Again I am thankful for this Library and The Librarians. These thoughts are coming from a good place and I genuinely care about the Library. Aloha, and have a Fantastic Day! Sincerely a local resident."
