As first-timers at this wondrous event, my expectations were not just met but completely surpassed. Waking up early is a small price to pay for the breathtaking views of the balloon warm-up and take-off. I would strongly advise future attendees to aim for an arrival time of no later than 5 a.m. While the early bird crowd is already present, there's no bad spot in San Rafael Park to marvel at the balloons, with picturesque views available from virtually everywhere. In terms of parking, the ample public parking options available at this early hour make it the most convenient choice. I would, however, caution against the VIP parking. Not only did we find it challenging to locate on the event map, but it also seemed superfluous given the ample public parking available. Beyond the balloon spectacle, the festival ambiance is equally delightful. As you wander around, you'll encounter a variety of dedicated vendors offering everything from hot plates to unique souvenirs. Their efforts add a wonderful layer to the overall experience. However, what truly elevated this event for me was the enthusiastic announcer and the heartwarming efforts of all the volunteers. Their kindness, thoughtfulness, and evident passion for the event made it even more special. In essence, the Great Reno Balloon Race is a captivating blend of visual wonder, community spirit, and festive fun. It's a must-experience event where the sky becomes a canvas of color and joy. And while words can describe the magic, I'd recommend checking out the added photos and videos to truly grasp its magnificence. If you ever find yourself in Reno during this event, it's an experience not to be missed!"

"We plan to be at the gate when it opens at 330am. $25 to park in lot. First come first serve seating. Bring blankets, it gets really cold around 6am. The balloons are amazing with their display of lights etc. I hope to continue to go every year. Friday was less crowded than Saturday."
