"Not to be an elitist snob, but I've always considered the best shave ice to be at Matsomotos further north. HOWEVER, after trying this place, I'm willing to reconsider. This place has tons of great options and add-ons that really separate it from other shops. The biggest thing that I liked was the option of putting fruit chunks on top. Huge game changer right there. Lots of seating (outdoors only) and the parking is easy. Give this place a try, especially if you don't feel like driving all the way around the north shore!"

"Rainbow House Shave Ice is more than a roadside shave ice stand. They also have coffee, smoothies, milkshakes, and soon will also have boba. Based on strong recommendations, we made this the final shave ice spot on our trip. I tried the banana and ordered it with preserved (evidently, canned) peaches and mango. I was only given the canned peaches as a topping with no mango. Preparing the items took slightly longer than at other shave ice stands, though in the early evening we were the only customers. Not that it was a long wait! Just somewhat more than other places. My partner loved the banana milkshake he got, and I enjoyed the shaved ice (which seemed bottomless) though maybe it wasn't my favorite of the trip. The fresh fruit and variety makes it hard to go wrong though, if you have a group and don't all want the same thing for dessert or to cool down on a hot day."

Amid the tropical heat, this spot seemed to promise a perfect respite with its colorful and chilly treats. We sampled both the Pineapple and Rainbow shaved ice topped with ice cream, each standing out with their bright hues. While the taste did lean towards the artificial, reminiscent of the childhood delight of brightly colored candies and drinks, it did not entirely detract from the experience. However, this might not appeal to those with a preference for natural flavors or more sophisticated desserts. Instead, Rainbow House Shaved Ice offers a whimsical, back-to-childhood experience, replete with colorful scoops of ice and sweetness. If you're looking for a taste of Hawaiian street food, you might want to give them a try."
