"Was so excited to try Manuela Maladada and the different flavours. We did a taste test with the other famous Malasada chain and definitely not the same. The flavour variety is nice but overall taste was average. The malasada itself tasted undercooked and very doughy. Also you have to get a minimum of 3, which cost $10 and than there is a charge for filling. So 3 Malasada with filling ended up costing $16. And these are about 25% smaller than the other famous Malasada restaurant."
"Great tasting donut pastries with a variety of filling choices. Located in a food truck area gives you plenty of food options to go with your maladada."
"Fresh and delicious malasadas made to order. We make sure this is our stop every time we're in the island, Big Island and Maui. Huuuge fan of the the guava and the lilikoi ."
"We tried them as everyone said we must while in Oahu. Donuts was super greasy. The coconut was the only one that tasted good. We tried banana cream and it tasted like plastic the peanut butter and chocolate was PB only they only sizzled a tiny bit of chocolate. Tables were full of ants, we were not able to sit and enjoy them. Paid $16 for 3 only ate one :("
"I first tried their malasadas on the big island and their li hing malasadas were the best I’ve ever had. Yes, better than Leonard’s. I visit Oahu and try these malasadas. I was excited to say the least. These malasadas did let me down. I’m not sure if they were overworked, overcooked, I’m not sure, but they didn’t taste the same. It had a crispy exterior which we loved, but I felt it was too dense and a little over cooked because of the thickness of the malasada. It needed to be fried longer to make sure the interior was cooked all the way. I will say, their guava tasted like guava. Everywhere else is gross and artificial. Yes, even Leonard’s guava didn’t compare to manuela."
