"We came here as a small private group for a poke class. I'll start by saying I love raw fish. I love cooking and I love events like this. This place is at the top of the list. As long as you like poke and not the other things you'll be thoroughly impressed. The couple that runs the business are awesome down to earth individuals with a lot of character and humor. We brought our own alcoholic beverages but were offered drinks when we arrived. To start, we got a tour of their location and all the organic produce that we would be able to use in one of our 3 poke bowls. We learned different types of poke. Methods and ingredients. The local techniques have a history as long as these the inhabitants of the islands. After making all of the poke bowls, we sat and indulged in our creations. Ending with a fantastic desert with a topping they sell on premise. Personally that butter topping is worth it! All told this secret little event was a great morning/afternoon of fun!"

"My husband and I had a great time making poke with Kalen! First he showed us around the garden and all the foods they grow. Kalen provided everything we needed to make our poke and was a great instructor on every step. The fish was the freshest I have ever had and the poke was delicious. After we finished, we sat with Kalen and ate our meals while looking at the beautiful mountains behind their home. There was plenty of fish for the three of us, as well as a good amount to take home and share with our family. I would highly recommend cooking classes with them to anyone who is interested!"

"I went to The Homestead on our honeymoon. We randomly met Kalen at a farmers market and he mentioned dinner, so we made plans to go the next day. It was absolutely wonderful. The setting was low key, beautiful, and romantic. We enjoyed hearing about Kalen’s farm, and the thought and care he put into his dishes. We enjoyed poke, salad, and delicious chicken. The dessert was exquisite — homemade coconut ice cream with two types of jam. This food is FRESH. At one point, Kalen took our food into the garden to pluck a garnish from a plant. We can’t recommend this experience more."
