"Very good experience.. purchased a recliner and while waiting purchased a sofa and two side chairs...we waited patiently for our ordered recliner only to find it damaged as it was delivered.Rose worked with us for a comparable piece in stock and couldn't have been a better experience... very happy..Tony & Carole"
"Great new location, easy to find, lots of parking, in the same parking lot as Target. Nice selection of contemporary and island furniture. Love the huge recliner selection!"
"Poor customer service. You owe it to your customers to make sure your website reflects accurate info. Yesterday the website indicated closed due to holiday. Today the site indicated open til 5:30. We called before going at 10:30 am, and the woman who answered said "open by appointment only. What do you want?" When I said we were looking for a living room chair, she said she would not open for us today. I suppose had we said we said we wanted a new dining room set she would have made time for us. Too bad. We went to Two Frogs Hugging, got great service, and bought a beautiful $1,200 chair, just what we wanted. There is competition on the island, and this kind of poor service will put Otsuka's out of business if they don't improve."
"Great furniture store, great selection and amazing area rugs selection"
"On more than one occasion I have had problems with the owner of this store regarding the sale of damaged or used furniture, without presenting it as so. Luckily, once I caught it before the pieces ever left the store. Even then, the owner gave me a very difficult time when I said I would prefer not to buy the item, after seeing the damage after they moved the items into the light where they became noticeable. On another occasion, I did not tell them that one of the legs on the set of four chairs I bought was not the same length as the others. They didn't care to do anything about it. I fixed it myself, though it is noticeable still. At the same time I purchased the chairs, I purchased a dresser and end tables. Not long after I had them home, I noticed a terrible smell coming from the interior. I complained to the store and was told that it was strange that they had never had that complaint. On another time I complained I was told they had stopped selling a brand of furniture because of this problem. In addition, one of the nightstands continually had a funny powder showing up in one of the drawers. Finally, the termite company who regularly sprays my residence noticed it. They told me it was beetles. When I called around to figure out how to get this piece tented, I was told that Otsuka's had often had this problem and that they had pieces tented. It is very expensive to have this done, and you have to take the item to the pest treatment place yourself. I do not have the ability to carry the piece myself, nor a vehicle to put it in. When I was checking around, I was told that Otsuka's would stand behind the piece because they had often had this problem. It seems many of their items are shipped in from other places where these pests are a problem. I waited three weeks to hear back from the call I left for the owner. I was hoping that they would include my item the next time they had some pieces treated, even if I had to pay the cost. At least I hoped they could pick it up on one of their runs and take it there with them. I never got that far. As I had experienced before, the owner was extremely rude insisting that I had purchased the items 5 or 6 years ago, even though their own computer showed it was less than two years ago. I was never even given the chance to ask if I could make arrangements to have my piece down when they have some done, nor to see if I could make arrangements for transport. One would think a store would be very interested that their furniture had pests, evidence of which had been visible since the day it was delivered, even though I didn't know what it was. And one would expect that the owner would listen long enough to hear what I was asking, just to even see if it was possible, before angrily talking over me to tell me that the other furniture stores were out to get her. She wanted to know who had told me she would stand behind what she had sold, and I told her one of her competitors. If she would have let me finish, or actually listened at all, she would have heard that her competitor wasn't not saying anything negative at all. Instead she claimed they were all selling the same stuff, so they knew. It is true that there were pieces that had this problem, sold by other furniture stores as well. But this bedroom set was not part of that furniture line. So I guess she knows she has a problem and thinks that being rude and shouting over someone will make it not true. After 3 problems with this company, I guess there isn't much room for error on my part. Shop at your own risk, and be sure that you have everything in writing. Buyer beware!"
