"This park has a beautiful trail system for hiking and several beautiful, secluded walk-in campsites. Many of the campsites overlook the water and most are away from the trails and have their own vault toilet or one that is shared with one other campsite. Dogs are welcome in the park and tent sites but need to be kept on a 6 foot leash. Dogs are not allowed in the cabins."
"We ended up camping here this winter for our annual winter camp, not much of a winter so more hike and sleep. The backpacking camp site we used had a picnic table, fire pit, food box, and a bathroom. It was nice to have those amenities compared to our usual boondocking snow trips. The only complaint was the closest water was shut off and it didn’t really say that on the website site. Great place with a bunch of short hikes, we will be staying here again."
"Highly recommend camping at Lake Maria State park. It’s a short drive from the Minneapolis and St Paul. The cabins are all nice as I have stayed in all of them. The hike in campsites are all nice and most of them are secluded"
"I enjoyed visiting this park while I was on vacation. I came here over 4 days and walked all the trails. They're fairly well kept, in good order. I will say the state of Minnesota probably needs to have a better system for Park access, as my option was to spend $28 for $7 a day access, or $35 one time for all year access. I think the park system needs to have a one week or a one-month pass option. Regardless, it's a beautiful park, the campsites are well spaced out, they are nicely obscured from each other, and well-appointed as far as latrine access Lake access primitive Camp / cabin Camp etc."
"Went on a nice hike here today. Saw lots of mushrooms everywhere. Couldn't go ten feet without seeing some kind of shrooms Toilet facilities at the Interpretation center. Also vault toilets in other areas. Nice views of the lakes. We will be coming back. There were campsite to hike back to. Super neat!"
