"Poor customer service and follow-through (Matt is the salesman). We bought multiple kitchen appliances ( Subzero/Wolf/Cove stove, fridge, icemaker, hood, microwave and dishwasher) from Monark in February 2021. They initially said everything would be here in July of 2021. Supply chain issues happened (understandable given the circumstances), and we didn't get most appliances until September 2021 through March 2022. The reason for the 1 star is the Ice Maker is STILL not here. They demanded full price for the item (which I paid), but when they delivered the item in August 2022 it was so damaged the installers wouldn't even bring it in the house. To date, Monark and Subzero have taken zero responsibility for this. They tell me I can wait another year to year and a half for a new icemaker, or they will give me the damaged one for $375 off (which is interesting because the repair company says the item is irreparable). Matt also sold us the wrong icemaker, so we had to buy almost $1000 worth of extra parts to retrofit it. Beware this company: they will take your money, but once they have the money they will not follow through to ensure you have the products/services you have paid for. Despite multiple phone calls and emails Monark has yet to resolve the issues."
"Our architect and interior designer recommended Monark, and we are so glad! We had such a great experience working with Chelsey - she is absolutely the best of the best! Our project had a few design and technical challenges and she helped us out every step of the way from planning decisions through installation. Chelsey and the Monark team are professional, knowledgeable, responsive and all-around great to work with."
"We visited two locations in Reno for high end appliances as we had our heart set on sub-zero, the two locations couldn’t have been more different. We found the staff at Monark to be absolutely wonderful, from Zoe (the woman at the front desk) to Chelsea (our saleswoman). The showroom was impeccable and Chelsea could answer every question easily. She patiently checked every detail of our order - line by line - twice. She was organized and set clear expectations. So far, a really positive experience."
"Service at Monark Appliance was awesome. Chelsea was quick to respond, knowledgeable and easy to work with. So thankful during this time we were able to find appliances that worked in our time frame and budget! We’ll definitely recommend them to friends, and come back in the future for our appliance needs."
"*** You want to read this review before walking into Monark Premium Appliances*** Back story - I purchased an entire home of high end appliances (i.e. Sub Zero Fridge, Wolf Dual Fuel Range, Bosch dishwasher etc.) from Monark. There are three Reno business that sell high end appliances. Monark, CZYZ'S and Ferguson's. I shopped all three hard. It does not matter who you purchase from. Prices from Sub Zero and Wolf are set by the manufacturer. You may be eligible for rebates from the manufacturer; but you will get that from any of the three. Just as an FYI, Sub Zero and Wolf never seem to go on sale. The good about Monark: My salesman Matt Cantwell was extremely knowledgeable regarding his product (far more than the other two stores salesman) and very friendly. He absolutely earned our business. Our installation team was also very efficient and fast with the install. The bad about Monark: When my appliances were being delivered, the Monark delivery driver ran into a stationary security porte-cochère. The entrance was clearly marked with maximum height limitations. The driver was either not aware of his full size load or perhaps was not paying attention when he rammed right into it. There was a secondary entrance he could have used. This happened on 11/20/18. The total to fix the damage caused by the Monark driver was a little over $3,600. This claim, as of 12/13/19 still has not been paid by Monark. It has been over one year since the accident. There is no question or debate by anybody associated with this accident, who is at fault. Monark (Sears Company) is self insured. Their management company contracted for running their insurance is Sedgwick Claims Management Services. When looking them up online, they have a very bad reputation of playing the stall game when claims arise; often not paying their clients claims until the victims hire legal council and file a lawsuit (information gathered from reading others reviews). Now that it has been over a year since the accident, my HOA is coming after me to pay for the damage. With Monark (Sears) failing to shoulder their responsibilities, my HOA is totally correct to look to me to pay. This is total BS that Monark has put me into this position. I like many before me, have now had to hire legal council to take on Sedwick and Monark (Sears) to get them to honor their responsibilities. This will and is increasing my monetary damages with Monark. More bad with Monark: I have requested in multiple e-mails throughout this ordeal for a meeting with the GM of Monark. Her name is Laurie Ballew-Tate. Not once have I ever received a response from this GM or my salesman regarding my request. Not a phone call, not an e-mail, and certainly not a face to face meeting as I have requested. And you guessed it, not an apology for all the time and heartache these guys have caused me either. I would seriously cook by a campfire before I would ever purchase another item from Monark. If you took the time to read this entire review; do yourself a favor, give your business to Ferguson's or locally owned CZYZ'S. Good luck."
