"What beautiful treasure for bird watching & nature appreciation. Hiked a very nice trail. Was there on a Sunday so main office was closed. Drove the wonderful Nature drive. Seen lots of great birds. Be warned the road are all dirt & a little rough in spots. Definitely would be a fantastic place in spring & Fall bird watching."
"Happy it was there! Not much camping in the region. This was a wild camp area, most likely used only during hunting season. Overgrown and not maintained. No toilets, lots of ticks, but very few mosquitoes. The birds in the morning, expect an early start!"
"It's very nice and peaceful bit would love to see off-road trails for wheelers and side by side to make it even better. As is the kids and I love it"
"Well managed wildlife refuge despite the few staff working there. Great access for wildlife viewing and photography. No camping but you can dry camp on nearby state refuge land."
"Best place in northern Minnesota for stargazing! I just wish some of the roads were open all night. Photo was taken last August."
