"The campground area itself isn’t that bad. Seems well kept and I was even surprised at the cleanliness of the cabins and bathrooms. However, the weekend we stayed there they had 2 weddings. This really took away the reason and feeling for camping as there was high traffic and you could hear the booming and laughter of the wedding’s party well into the night, along with quite a bit of (drunk?) shouting and booms from self-lit fireworks. The campground staff I think should not allow the cabins to be available on days/nights when they have weddings because the 2 just don’t mix. At the least they should communicate with the guests about weddings booked so that campers have a choice if they still want to proceed with booking that day."

"A great hidden gem of a park in Chisago Lakes. The beach is pretty nice, and there are a lot of hiking areas too. It's usually not very busy during the weekdays. Weddings can take over the prime weekends in summer. The city rents cabins and tenting spots, and you're very close to town. Beautiful views that feel like you are a lot further out than you are. Restrooms are older campground style, but usually clean. Many places for lunch or picnic. PS. Bug spray is a really good idea for most days during the summer. You are parking in a dirt lot and walking to the beach. It's a short walk, less than 1/4 mile one way, but worth mentioning."
