"Iโd like to offer a big thank you to Anna Darbonne, for allowing me to have an "Advanced Reader Copy" for review. Grief is a horrific experience and something we never ever ask for, but so many of us find ourselves joining the grief club, that nobody ever wants to join. Grief is as unique to us as our finger prints and no two people will grieve the same way. This book will guide you through your grief in a kind and nurturing way. As a bereaved daughter, yoga teacher niched in yoga for grief and holistic therapist I can see how this book is so wonderful for helping you work through the multitude of emotions and phases of grief. Anna provides many tools to help you heal and integrate grief into your life in a way that honours your loved one. Grief affects us, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually and this book will help you on all levels. Her stories are so powerful and resonated with me. Anna makes it ok to allow all your feelings, sitting with whatever comes up and not resisting them for other peoples benefit. I can highly recommend this book as it is a great support for any griever or those who support grievers. Suzannah Safwat - Zanna Yoga (UK)"
"This review is for the Navigating Grief Workbook, written by Dr. Darbonne. Navigating the grief journey after losing a loved one often feels like you are traveling in uncharted waters on a life raft without a compass. You feel alone, misunderstood, anxious, sad, and more. Not everyone can afford therapy and others don't want to share their pain in a group so where can you find support? Try this workbook! The workbook is a valuable tool for self-discovery and is designed to be a private journal for you and your thoughts and feelings. The author begins with a comprehensive look at understanding what grief is. She moves into a chapter on processing grief and integrating the loss before inviting the reader into personal and reflective exercises. She has quite a few journaling prompts but also incorporates self-care practices including simple breathing exercises, guided imagery, and song playlists. I experienced my own tragic loss seven years ago and there were not a lot of workbook-type options in the market at that time. I have also learned that grief is not just about losing a loved one; we experience grief when we lose a relationship, job, friend, or even move. The exercises in the book could be used for any type of loss. The author is a psychotherapist so there are echoes of her clinical background in the early chapters, and she does a great job of offering the reader a variety of holistic and mindful practices to help support the griever. I did receive an Advance Reader Copy of the workbook for this review, but I will definitely be purchasing the workbook and sharing links with people who would find it helpful."
"I received an Advanced Reader Copy of Navigating Grief Workbook. What a lovely workbook for grievers. This workbook is beautifully written, substantial 180 pp, very comprehensive, comforting, and educational. I experienced grief in 2021 when my husband's body was found. This workbook takes you through the grief journey in a very thoughtful way. It covers everything a new or seasoned griever needs from key takeaways, self-care suggestions, journal prompts, affirmations, and short case studies from real-life scenarios. I can see this workbook being used in seminars, retreats, workshops, grief camps, and veterans' widows groups. This can also be helpful for those experiencing ambiguous loss. A Spanish version would be icing on the cake! Every Grief Education/Recovery Program needs this!"
"I have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Darbonne as a supervisor and then later as a colleague. Anna's openness and empathic nature has always made her patients feel extremely comfortable and supported. She has a superb ability to meet her patients where they are at, especially from a grief standpoint. She is a delight to work with and I would absolutely recommend her as both a provider and an associate!"
"I had the privilege of getting to know Dr. Anna Darbonne-Bjorndal during graduate school. She was easy to connect with and top of the class. Anna is a brilliant therapist with a desire to help those who are experiencing deep pain. She is compassionate, nonjudgmental and extremely qualified . You will be in good hands with Anna!"
