"My grandson was a patient there for 3 years with Dr. Dewan for 2 1/2 years, only to be seen by the actual doctor one time. Saw PA for 5 min each visit, was given too much insulin which was never adjusted in 2 1/2 years was hospitalized due to this 3 times, thankfully has a great doctor now at Mayo Clinic who made all the adustments he needed. Never got his training on his omnipod and was prescribed it, with zero follow up. He almost died, DO NOT GO here!"
"AVOID AT ALL COST am writing to share my disappointing experience with Dr Uzman and their staff. My recent visit to the clinic left much to be desired, and I feel compelled to express my concerns. Firstly, the staff's demeanor was unprofessional and lacked the empathy one expects in a healthcare setting. The receptionists seemed disinterested and were unhelpful when I sought information about my appointment. Moreover, my encounter with Dr Uzman was unsatisfactory. The doctor appeared rushed and disengaged, providing minimal explanations about my condition and treatment options. I felt my concerns were dismissed without adequate attention. The overall atmosphere in the clinic did not foster a sense of comfort or trust, and the lack of transparency regarding my health plan left me feeling frustrated and uninformed. Additionally, I noticed that I was charged for the $65 appointment despite its cancellation due to the mentioned family emergency. AVOID AT ALL COST"
"My granddaughter goes there for her diabetes. The doctor prescribed her with a new pump and sensors back in Oct 2023. I am still trying to get the upgrades all approved and received. They have told me on different occasions that they have sent three request and even forwarded it so we can order only to find out from her insurance company that this is not the case. They even called us a couple of weeks ago to see why she wasn't using the upgraded equipment they prescribed. I keep getting the run around from the office staff and have now also been talking to the office manager who tells me one thing only to find out that isn't true either. I think they either need to train their current staff a little better or get staff that will actually do the job correctly. I just know from my experience that diabetes it not something to be messing around with I can't imagine what others have had to deal with from them in regards to their situations. I would not recommend this office to anyone!! Irecommend this office to anyone."
"AVOID AT ALL COST. Unless you want to be robbed of your hard earned dollars. I’ve arrived for my follow up appointment with Dr. Michael Uzmann to review my lab work results and ultrasound results on my thyroid. I proceeded to pay my co-pay which they charge prior to seeing the doctor. After waiting almost an hour, Dr. Uzmann finally came in and told me “unfortunately you've hit bad timing” and he and the office can not find my lab work results in their system and the ultrasounds were also not ready at the time of my appointment Dr. Uzmann then proceeded to tell me to redo my lab work and wait on a phone call from him once they have the results on both. This whole exchanged lasted for less than 5 minutes total. While checking out of my appointment I’ve asked the front desk, Arlene, about the follow up phone call. She then told me that the phone call will also be another copay, since it will be considered a separate appointment. I then requested a refund on this appointment due to the fact that the office was not prepared and did not review any results information with me. Arlene then told me they cannot refund me, and when I escalated my concerns, she proceeded to tell me that she made a note on my account and she will speak with the office manager and I will receive a call from them the following day. The next day on I received a call from Arlene and she told me once again that there’s no refund possible. I demanded to speak with the office manager and few hours later, the director of operations at The Doc, Chase, gave me a call back. I’ve explained to Chase in detailed about what happened on the 27th and why I requested a refund, he proceeded to redirect me and continuously say that it was the patient’s responsibility to make sure that they set and keep their appointments regarding lab work and any other procedures requested. I’ve stated multiple times that I’ve done just so, and I also then asked how was I suppose to know if their office received my results from lab corp and desert radiology and how is it a patients responsibility to make sure that these results was sent to them. I then also asked why did I not receive a courtesy call from the front desk at least if they knew that my results were not ready prior to my appointment. Chase could not provide me an answer. He also told me that he left a message with Dr. Uzmann on the refund issue because charging a co-pays are also under provider's discretion. After waiting over week, I’ve sent a follow up email regarding my refund and still there is no update. At this point they literally charged me money to be told my results are not ready. Even my insurance company advise me that this should not have happened and can be considered fraud. After this unethical practice of billing me for a visit that was unnecessary, I do not feel comfortable going back to this office as a patient and I hope other people beware."
"The doctor Uzman seems to be very good and knowledgeable (unlike many I’ve seen), the office looks very nice and clean. 3 stars only because of the front desk, they never pick up the phone, ever! Or send lab orders to quest. So even for the smallest things like that, or to reschedule an appointment you have to go there in person. On top of that they have weird hours, 9-4 or something so if you have a M-F 8-5 job like me, it makes it hard and frustrating."
