"My rifle’s action was locked up. It was an old Remington woods master in .280 Remington. They were honest with me that it would take some time to fix consider new parts are not regularly made and must be custom ordered. Despite it be a it being such a non-standard job he was willing to answer any questions I had on the status of my order. he also provided me with information that I didn’t not request, but needed to know for it to last. It took nearly a year to fix, but all things considered I am satisfied."
"Took 3 years, to fix 2 guns. One still did not work and he charged me. The other was over double what he expected. Called and stopped by multiple times he would make up some lie about them being done next week. Go anywhere else!!!"
"Heads up it’s called “Spooner Firearms” now. I met Josh at a gun show and stopped by his shop to pick up a hard to come by revolver. The pistol was reasonably priced and Josh was knowledgeable and friendly. Great experience, thanks!"
"They’ve had my gun for TEN months. Was supposed to take “a couple months” to shorten the barrel on my shotgun. I’ve had to use a different gun for skeet league and dove hunting so far. Hoping to have it back in time for pheasant opener. I’ve called several times over the last few months. All he has to say is it’ll be a couple weeks."
"I wouldn't recommend doing business with this shop. After agreeing upon doing some work for me (removing a muzzle brake), there was a miscommunication about how the work was to be done. After that got resolved, I was given a specific time frame for the work to be done. A full week after that time frame went by, I still had heard nothing. I stopped in to check on the status, and was informed that they hadn't completed the work. I elected to have them return my property and find someone else to finish the work. However, I was informed that I must pay $30 (shop minimum fee) for the attempts they made to remove the muzzle device, or that they would put a lien on my property before release to the Sheriff's Department for auction. I was informed that they kept records of the work they did (including date and time) on their work ticket, but refused to allow me to get a full copy of the ticket, or to review their documentation that showed the dates and times they attempted to remove the muzzle device. I was told conflicting information about what type of techniques they used to remove the muzzle device. I paid the $30 in order to get my property returned to me. All I was given was a work order receipt stamped "paid" and a copy of the front of the work ticket(no copy of the back, which I was told showed the dates and times they worked on my project) All in all, I'm not satisfied with the service provided. Apparently them recovering $30 for an incomplete job (that was overdue) is worth far more than a satisfied customer and repeat business. On a positive note, they're quick to answer phones, their custom rifles look great, and they seem very knowledgeable about their craft, just unfortunately I didn't have a great experience. Your mileage may vary."
