"We rented a house through Remax. We painted the entire kitchen and hallway upon moving in. We lived in the house for about six months. I had the carpets professionally cleaned and the house was also cleaned before moving out. When I got my deposit back, I had been charged $285 for maintenance work, replacing drains, blinds, and wall holes, all of which were in that condition upon receiving the keys. Early into moving I had emailed the agent helping me about the condition of certain items in the house and was told these discrepancies weren’t considered damage but just regular wear and tear. I left the home in better condition and cleanliness than I received it. I emailed the agency several times after moving out asking for a status on the deposit refund. It was never communicated to me in any of those emails that I would be responsible for maintenance costs for damages I did not create, and in my opinion, the lack of communication from the agency was very unprofessional. I would not recommend this company."
