"Dr Elfstrand delivered my first child. I had just moved to Mpls and before my first visit, learned I was pregnant using an at home test. My husband and I were elated. We had both recently graduated from grad school. He had just started a job in marketing and I was a first year lawyer at a great firm (all of which was on the long questionnaire I completed when I arrived). Because I already had an appt, I told her this and asked her to confirm. When she confirmed, she looked at my blankly and asked “What I did I want to do with it?” I was startled and told her of course I wanted to have my baby. Foolishly (perhaps because I was in a new city and didn’t know anyone else to ask for a referral), I stayed with her during the delivery. She was not kind at all, never read my background and seemed to assume I was just another statistic. She even suggested that I drink wine when I was threatening preterm labor due to an exhaustive travel schedule because of my job. I opted for bed rest instead. She delivered my child and when I was pregnant with my second a few years later, I switched to a new physician at an all women’s clinic. Dr. Elfstrand is a subpar doctor and a nasty human being."
