"Update: they requested I reach out to them as you can see in their response to my review and not surprised that I never got a response from them when I reached out. Also had them deny my doctor’s claim for my surgery yet again and was told I have to wait 180 days till we can try again. This is disgusting how you treat people!! Horrible insurance. Denied a much needed and required surgery twice. Waited until less than 24 hours before my surgery to give a final denial and leaving me with debilitating pain and unable to do anything. Claiming it’s not medically necessary after waiting two months to deny the first time and another several weeks for the second. I pay a ridiculous premium for this company to not cover needed medical care. Good to know a person with crippling diseases is left to suffer."

"This is one of the worst insurance companies out there. I get Remicade infusions every 6 weeks for my ulcerative colitis. I’ve now been without my medicine for 10 weeks because Surest is fighting tooth and nail to not authorize my medication. Because of this delay, I’m a lot of pain. They have my prior authorization and everything else they need, and yet they still refuse to authorize the medication. I’ve been told by my doctors that I will have to wait another 2-3 weeks to get my infusion because Surest’s turnaround time is so slow. It’s honestly disgusting how little they care about their members. All they care about is money. DO NOT USE THIS INSURANCE COMPANY."

"Worst experience with a health insurance company I've ever had. They've refused to cover basic preventative care after over a year of fighting a few claims. The difference between what the app said basic visits would cost and what the bill showed after were huge."

"I have been trying to create my new account for a month. Spent 47 minutes on the phone with customer service who told me there’s nothing they can do until Monday. When I asked for help looking up my provider for an appointment Monday. They had system errors and gave me a range from $40-$900 at which point one of the two reps I talked to said,” if you take your trigger point injections home from an outpatient service and do them yourself it’ll be $900.” Trigger point injections are not performed by the patient. I have never experienced such terrible customer service with an insurance company."

"Surprised by all the negative reviews must depend on situation or location. For me this was the best health insurance experience year I have had. Will see if it changes or if the cost goes up too much but so far I find the app easy to use, easy to predict costs for doctors and prescriptions and procedures and have been surprised how much was covered."
