"Pros: Management and Maintenance staff are very friendly and attentive. Cost for size is hard to beat, especially in the area. Haven't had to turn on heat so far. Great location. Quiet building. Cons: Substantial delivery issues due to no package room in the 428 building. Very little natural light. Very poor interior lighting. Bring lamps! Disposal drain pipe is corrugated plastic, filled with mold, hard to clean. Kitchen has no vent for cooking. Kitchen has no cabinets on the upper shelving. If your washing machine breaks (twice so far for me) you have to take your items into the adjacent building. 428 building has non of the amenities."
"I've been living at CHL (the historic building) for about 9 years. While the amenities are non-existent, the place is clean, safe and quiet. The apartments are very comfortably sized and we enjoy some of the lowest rents in the North Loop... it is absolutely great value for the price."
"Creamette is just a nice place to live. High ceilings and tall windows, unique floor plans/layouts, exposed ductwork and historic features from the actual Creamette Company — this isn’t a cookie cutter, bland apartment. The light from my windows is incredible and I’m on the 3rd floor, right at the top of the trees so I can’t really see that there’s a parking lot outside. I love love love my apartment. I love living here. And the Maintenance Guy CJ is amazing! He responds within minutes of the request being submitted and fixes things right away. As far as security goes, the outer doors lock between 10pm and 6am. Visitors are buzzed in. There’s also a secure package room so packages aren’t stolen. You can have both cats and dogs here as well. Creamette is just a great, homey place to live."
"I just moved here and the building is nice. But this is the loudest apartment building I have lived in and I have lived in several. Needs more tennants who are considerate to neighbors. Never thought I would write this review. I was very hopeful. But I did read another review that its noisy. I dont mind some noise, but this is a lot. A previous review that said, "loud lousy neighbors" is correct."
"Excellent response process for maintenance requests and from a price point it is a very good value for the North Loop neighborhood. High ceilings make the units feel much larger and the thick walls do not transmit much sound. Being tucked away from Washington Ave. also helps to decrease the noise from traffic and nightlife. Limited amenities (small gym) but the parking is secure (as much as can be expected) and very reasonable ($150 for indoor $100 for outdoor). Overall, its a good, bordering on great apartment with a very helpful management team."
