Devonshire Apartments

"Rent is affordable, underground parking is super cheap. Few issues with our unit That maintenance got to relatively quickly. However the devonshire office is closed often when it's supposed to be open. Emails don't get replied to and no one answers the phone."

"Having gone through the application process I must say BUYER BEWARE the application fees are unbelievably spendy for the area and there are much nicer apartments with far nicer amenities just a few miles up the road. To apply they will require $40 for an application fee, $200 "admin fee" both of which are non refundable so before you even know if your approved your out $240 as a single occupant let alone if you have a spouse. Furthermore the parent company may as well take small loans from the people applying as they will require a $400 holding fee BEFORE they approve or deny you. Now your out $640 oh but that's $400 is refundable...however they won't help you they will tell you to deal with the parent company and you'll get refunded in a month, by snail mail with a paper check. Absolutely ridiculous and downright scummy. Go check out international village just a few miles away they are much nicer with a parent company that cares for tenants. Also if you don't believe me that they are only after your money drive through the community look up at the buildings gutters and overhangs you'll see damage that they clearly haven't bothered to fixed for quite awhile."

"Lived here for several years, first in an apartment later a Townhome. The apartment was a non renovated unit. I would say you get what you pay for as those units are quite old (A/C, refrigerator, etc) but the rent is usually low for the area... Townhomes are nice but some of the appliances may need a renovation (like the dryer). Management team is usually helpful and they tend to reply fast. Maintenance Team is also quick with the tickets (shout out to Matt and Alex). Overall I would recommend."

"I've lived here over year and despite some initial maintenance issues that needed to be addressed - sockets loose, blinds damaged, faucet leaks - it's been okay. Gripes: The toilets are very low and old (even in upgraded unit), and the shower head is way to low for a tall (6'1") person. No advance notice of water being shutoff (multiple times now). The office isn't great about answering their phone or returning messages. They are quick for emails though. I've never turned my heat on (thermostat is set to "off") and it's roasting. I've had windows open all year long even when it's been -10 outside. Off should mean there is no water flowing through the radiators."

"If you are looking into these apartments.. DO NOT. I'm about to explain why my time living here was HORRENDOUS- these people do not care about you, all they care about is your money. This is not a safe environment for anyone especially kids. So unprofessional and management is just terrible. I have seen suspicious people coming in and out and the doors are always unlocked. Please, for your own sake and safety, do not move here."
