"Do not park here. The signs are not clear on how to pay. On a cold night we tried to use the app to pay for our parking inside a nearby restaurant to stay warm. Half way to creating a new account the tow truck was already lifting our car. We had to pay over a hundred bucks to unhook it. The owner doesn't care the instructions are across multiple signs and some signs are outdated. Very shaddy."
"Zone 9961-Park at your own risk!!! After finding out my friend had been towed, we went to Red Rabbit to find out where they might have towed it and a waitress said the lot is the worst! I had updated everything on the Minneapolis Parking App for my friends truck and paid $10.35 to park by 6:17 and the tow company said they towed the truck at 7:19. Not even just a ticket on a Wednesday night! I had proof of parking and they cut the tow in half but ridiculous! 12/12/18"
"Shady business practices and misleading signage lead people to pay incorrectly, allowing the lot owner to profit off of towing cars 'legally'. They sent my pregnant wife and I to the impound lot and drove another young woman with her visiting out-of-town mother to tears. A quick search for "Red Spot Parking" via the modern miracle that is the internet will show a >10 year history of this behavior by the lot owner and his lackeys. The parking company/owner have even received letters of action from then Mpls City Councilmen, now MAYOR, Jacob Frey to cease and desist this behavior (alas to no avail). Read more about their nefarious behavior in the article by the MPLS Star Tribune: '3 months and 93 tows' dated March 29, 2011 or the Kare11 Investigates report: 'Improper Downtown Towing' from Sept 12 2018. PARK AT YOUR OWN RISK"
"My suspicions of this being a scam were confirmed this morning. Last night, I posted a review on Parkopedia warning consumers of this lot, when I looked this morning, the parking lot was listed as “inactive.” Looks like they are trying to cover the tracks of their shady business operation. Signage is incredibly unclear and leads you to believe parking is for North Loop Restaurants. On top of that, signage is in varying fonts and colors stating different things so you don’t know which sign to read first or which one evens applies. They have men sitting in cars representing the fire department patrolling the lot acting like they are ready to help, but they are just looking to antagonize their next victim. Their actions are disparaging of our true heroes - the firefighters and first responders - by being so closely involved in such a scam. When you return to find your car towed, these men are ready to tell you where they towed your car to because one of the twenty signs does not even have the correct towing company listed! And these men don’t stop there. They will continue to antagonize and harass you and make you feel uncomfortable after dark because they will not leave you alone. This awful experience has made me reconsider North Loop altogether. The restaurants are by no means worth it with having to deal with the scam artists across the street. #northloop #shadyparkingbusiness #betterbusinessbureau"
