"If I can say one good thing about Stearns, it’s that the location is good and their maintenance crew is mostly great. Otherwise, it’s a mess. I moved into the apartment and the carpet was stained, and the pet owned by the last tenants had clearly peed on it. Stearns had cleaned it, but burning it would have been the better option. There was also food splattered all over the kitchen. When I vacated, they requested that I leave the water & electric on for 3 days after and nearly doubled my electric bill in just a few days. The apartments have terrible air flow - my apartment was constantly smelling like cigarettes, vape, or weed coming in from my neighbors. Speaking of neighbors, the walls are thin. If you have a center apartment, you can hear everything that happens outside. The upside was, I got to listen to everyone fall down the stairs when it got icy. Stearns is fine for what it is, but don’t expect your deposit back."
"Black MOLD throughout the apartment that I rented when in Fayetteville for medical treatments. Management knew I was there for medical treatments and still put me knowing in this harmful environment. Became sicker than getting better from the mold throughout apartment. Worst experience!!"
"Moved out in august. Cleaned and made sure everything was in order before I turned over the keys. Received a bill in September and they charged extra above my deposit amount They charged me a double cleaning which did not need to be done. I feel this was an overcharge just to get more money. I warn anyone who deals with Lindsey apartments to make sure you take pictures and have them walk through with you before your final departure. I gave them one star for this reason."
"Wish I could give 0 stars for how my brother (roommate) and I have been treated by this business the past few days, though we've been nothing but good residents. Our lease renews first of August, we got a written out rent increase notification back in may. That price on the written form does not match what has been showing in our housing portal and, when it came time to go in and sign the lease renewal agreement, they verbally gave us another price that was also different! Despite the fact that we had one price IN WRITING WITH APPROPRIATE NOTICE, they told us we would have to do the price they verbally told us THE DAY OF SIGNING which (surprise surprise) was the highest price of all the numbers we've been given. They said it was a "technical error" that the price on the form was wrong. Is that our fault? No. Any good business would understand that and honor whatever was given to their customer/tenant in writing. But, Lindsey is a huge corporation who obviously sees their tenants as numbers rather than actual people. I almost feel we could get legal assistance given that they are blatantly going against what they gave us in writing, but what legal help that a college student and recent college graduate can get will compare to the legal team of a corporation this size? We cannot wait to get out from under Lindsey Management. Also, we got a little added bonus of the assistant manager talking to one of her co workers about our situation so rudely and loud from the back office that when her coworker came back to relay her message to us, we said not to bother repeating because we heard the whole attitude-filled rant ourselves. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE."
"Maintenance here is amazing. That is the only upside to this apartment complex. Lyndsey gave us a lease renewal offer, and the day we came to sign it, they raised the price of the offer (after already raising our rent over $100 per month with the former new offer) Even though we only had less than 24 hours of notice of the new, more expensive lease offer that they had pulled out of thin air, we had no choice but to sign it as the manager was conveniently out on vacation until our lease would automatically renew for 12 months (No chance we will spend another year here). Lyndsey is a large corporation that does not care about its residents, and they know that there is nothing that the common person living in their apartments can do about it without expensive legal resources. Also, Carol in the office was extremely rude even though her coworker made it clear that she knew they were actively taking advantage of their tenants. Shoutout to those maintenance guys though, they're great and do their jobs the right way."
