"Preemptive... Literally day before going there after talking kids up for a fun weekend with a pool and slide before a dance competition next day and... Get a call today saying the pool is closed with all the rest of the hotels booked in the area already. Wow...just wow. I convinced wife to book this because of the pool area. What a joke Edit: seems somebody had the same complaint a month ago so obviously there's an ongoing problem."

"After 91/2 hr drive,, to find Pool and hot tub closed, you'd think price would come down or at least let people know when they book, especially when kids were excited. Also cancellation policy here is 48hrs and overpriced! Very dissapointing. Please mention on your Google overview when your facilities pool and hot tub are closed."

"If your child is under 4 feet tall don't come here for the slide. We came for the pool and have a daughter that was two inches to short and they insisted she couldn't go."

"The room was filthy and worn out. Pool and breakfast area were unavailable due to construction. This was not mentioned when I made the reservation. Lady at the front desk kept calling me to come down to give her another credit card for incidental damage as she didn't know what she was doing wrong entering so made it my fault. Every time I had to come back to the room and try to calm down a very frightened senior pug. Very frustrating and definitely not pleasant experience with this hotel. Will stay elsewhere next time I come to Brookings for sure!"

"Great experience. Friendly and attentive staff. Had our rollaway bed already in our room. Room was clean not a single strand of hair left in the batbroom from other visitors! Breakfast was crazy busy and the holiday Inn staff was on top of it! Breakfast eating space was clean. They were fully booked due to a cheer competition and you couldn't tell because the staff was relaxed and friendly. Also their are a lot of children and to be honest I didn't hear much from the surrounding rooms!! Thank you for the wonderful stay."
