"Rooms were disgusting with red smears on the walls, bathroom floor sticky, bathroom shower curtain had substances on it, no towel hanger on bathroom door, comforter had mud smear on it, tv remote would only work when standing in certain part of room"
"Hotel had a strong odor of weeds and earth that hit you right away when walking in. The smell continued through the hallways and up to the second floor. Thankfully the smell was not in our room. Room was "meh". A place to sleep for the night, I guess. Very flat pillows. Bedding was thin. Water pressure was not good. No bed bugs, so I guess that's something. Woke up the next morning to the smell of weeds and earth when we walked the hallways and ate breakfast. Pool area had pieces of paper taped all over the door with a sign that said it was "closed for today" but by the looks of it had been closed for months. Breakfast was very basic: Frosted Flakes, Cheerios, or Raisin Bran for cereal options; yogurt; questionable looking hard-boiled eggs; bread; and packaged cinnamon rolls. A place to sleep for a night. Not too far off the interstate. Easy check-in process. Definitely NOT worth the price though! $113 was far too much for what we got. This was definitely not a $113 room or experience."
"Truthfully, if I could give less than 1/5 I would…first thing, my husband and I stayed here 3 years ago and it wasn’t bad then except for the pool and hot tub being under construction. So when we booked it online this year the website said the pool and hot tub were in working order… so we packed our suits..well upon arrival we soon realized the pool in hot tub were in fact not in working order… and looked the EXACT same it did 3 years ago. When we checked in it was speedy and the price was thought to be “not too bad” until we saw the room. There was a funky smell when we first entered. The room appeared to be clean but then quickly declined from there.. when my husband got done showering he informed me to close the shower curtain slowly because the curtain rod was not properly connected to the wall and he had to reattach it, then he said be careful when you grab a towel because the towel rack is not properly mounted either because it also almost came off the wall…but that was not the worst part of the bathroom, when I went to grab a towel I quickly noticed brown stains on the first towel I grab and so when I threw it down and grabbed another which with no surprise also had brown stains, so I checked every single towel we had and they all had brown stains.. thankfully I had brought a beach towel to use while swimming and since swimming was NOT an option I used that towel while showering. The water pressure of the shower head was awful and you would have gotten better pressure from a lawn hose. The tv constantly froze on the guide screen.. the microwave start button had to be pushed 15 times before starting. The parking lot entrance was terrible if you’re not paying attention you could bottom out or worse. Parking is limited especially if you have a boat, which I assume many people stay there as it is 23 min from lake Traverse. I could keep going but this is the majority of the major things…Overall we will not be staying here again…"
"We were stranded in Sisseton during a blizzard and I’m thankful that we found a warm place to stay. Overall the hotel is VERY expensive for what it is, $180 per night for a Super 8 is egregious. At the price you could anticipate better amenities, but do not in this small town. The pool and hot tub are drained and full of construction materials, there is no personal laundry options and the breakfast is cereal and milk. The walls are very thin and if anyone is above you, in our case someone up all night, it is loud. They are mid construction in the rooms which left chipped tiles in our room that were rather sharp. The windows even with a the covers leave an extremely bright light. They are definitely working towards improvements and I would anticipate people in the future could expect to have a pretty nice stay. Our room was freshly painted with new carpet, it was clean with a little more maintenance to be completed. They have full direct tv and internet which was nice. Any issues we had were addressed quickly. Parking was a mess but I think that was storm related. I think they are on track but the off season was less ideal."
