"My wife was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and had an appointment 7/05/2023 with one of your surgical physicians Dr. Michael Cross and let me tell you this surgeon that works for your organization is very unprofessional, rude, belittling, hateful, hurtful and arrogant. I am very embarrassed for Highland Oncology Group to employee such unprofessionalism. We went to this physician because employees of the organization talked highly of him and his plastic surgeon Dr. Atwood. I can tell you it was a huge mistake. If we would have known he was going to be a surgeon that thinks he is higher than God we wouldn't have even stepped foot into his office. I was totally surprised with his attitude and body language when he walked into the room. Not only was he rude and arrogant he made several shocking comments as well. See comments below. Comments made by Dr. Cross on 7/05/2023 1. When we were discussing his plastic surgeon his nurse in a sarcastic way said, "they have Cigna insurance" Like in a way that appeared we were wasting Dr. Cross's time. 2. Dr. Cross made a comment "I don't have time to walk up and down the interstate to find a new plastic surgeon that takes your insurance." I was very shocked and grew angry at his comments. Evidently he is too high on himself to check and see what insurance we had before he even seen my wife as a patient. 3. When my wife expressed she wanted a double mastectomy he commented, "due to your history of depression and other physical ailments you probably wouldn't want to get up and around and do well with a double mastectomy" 4. Dr. Cross kept making comments and even drew a diagram on his white board to show why he couldn't do a lumpectomy because her breast were too small. After these comments and insults from Dr. Cross my wife said we were done here. She asked him to leave so she could get dressed. He then said to her, "why should I leave, it is my office" At that time we asked him to leave and we said a few choice words torwards him. What we witnessed and the way we were treated during our Dr. Cross visit on 7/05/2023 shocked us and said something different. We are already high stressed because of the recent diagnosis we didn't expect this kind of insult from a medical professional. He is to the point and does not dawdle but answered all questions fully. I had an unusual complication following my lumpectomy and he and his team were very responsive and helped it clear up.
