"The kids previous Dr. moved so we just met Dr. Ukwe. We had such a wonderful experience! The ladies at the front desk were friendly and quick. Dr. Ukwe's nurse is amazing!!! I'm sad I don't recall her name, but my girls loved her. Dr. Ukwe addressed every concern I had and explained reasoning to his answers. He truly listened!! That means a lot. My girls were giggling and comfortable the entire time. I highly recommend him!"
"Beware that if you decide to change doctors or your child is unfairly dropped as a patient that Mercy Pediatrics will deny care for your child if you want to see another Mercy doctor. Dr Dupree dropped my 3 year old child as a patient over a misunderstanding, (bc we used urgent care bc it was urgent and Dr Dupree could never get her in on short notice) and Mercy is now telling us that because she saw a Mercy doctor she cannot see another that’s associated with that clinic. Well we’re pretty limited here in Ft Smith, right? So that’s pretty unfair and should be illegal to deny care to a child. I spoke to a lady at the Mercy Towers, she took my complaint, agreed it was wrong, told me she would get it worked out and never called me back."
"We absolutely love Dr.Ukwe and Nurse Domonique! However the receptionist panel is completely unprofessional, unorganized, and snarky to say the least. This is our second incident and this mama bear is not okay! First off, they lose his initial paperwork containing both of our socials, home address, etc. When i ask the receptionist who told me i would have to fill out another form where it was she shrugged her shoulders and said “not sure, these things happen”.. Im not sure if she felt it was normal or okay, but it was not. Then when asked to be contacted by a manger (because she wasn’t in) i never was. This was at his 2nd checkup in June! We go back on August 26th when he was 7 months for his 6 month checkup and shots, i am still never told where my sons paperwork was lost, nor am i allowed to speak with a manager (because she wasn’t in…) during this visit i was also told by receptionist that i would not need a paper to take to WIC to renew my sons formula prescription. He is a preemie with a specific formula NOT sold in store, so it extremely important that he has his formula! September 1st- However when trying to get his formula from the WIC office, they informed us that we do in fact need a form to get my child’s formula. So, i call to have the form faxed, the receptionist let me know she knew how important it was and i would receive a call back as SOON as this was faxed. September 6th- We were never called by Mercy to let us know it was faxed and we could get it. However Lupe told me today that it was faxed at 8:36 the next morning after i called on the 1st…. but WIC never received this. At the beginning of my call i let Lupe (who was the most decent receptionist in my opinion) know that i have been extremely frustrated with the disorganization of their staff and that i would like to escalate the issue to a manger to figure out what has been going on. She says okay and proceeds to put another co worker of hers Gabby, on the phone. I wish she wouldn’t have done that. She did nothing but repeat what Lupe had already said, told me the manager wasn’t there..AGAIN, and then blames WIC saying this always happens… So baby’s prescriptions are ALWAYS this hard to renew when going through MercyKids? All while over talking me, until i got loud and asked to be called back by a MANGER. I’m extremely dissatisfied and will be weighing my options. STILL WAITING TO BE CALLED BACK."
"Dr.Ukwe himself is been fair, his nurse has been hateful since day one. Gave my daughter shots in a very fast like way, the medicine that goes in the infants mouth my daughter was choking on it and she just rubbed her cheek for her to swallow while she was choking. Refused to send a referral and sign a prescription form for my daughters therapy."
"Dr. Ukwe is great but the front receptionist (black lady) is very rude and inconsiderate of what people may have going on with their kids. She doesn't care at all, is very disrespectful, and argues when she is wrong. She then talks bad about you to other workers when you can clearly hear her. She should absolutely be fired for how she talks to people. If you don't want to be there why work there. Completely unacceptable"
