"I went to Rolando’s for lunch on a Thursday with my best friend, it wasn’t terribly busy as it was an odd day. Once we were seated our server was very attentive to us. I particularly liked how after I put sweetener in my tea that he took the small pieces of trash away for me! I hate a messy space and usually end up putting these kinds of trash in my pocket but he picked them up, as well as our straw wrappers on another visit. The food was excellent! I order the Cuban sandwich, everything about it was delicious! The ham and pulled pork were tender and juicy, the roll was nice, the sauces were very flavorful and added to the dish! The only thing I will say is that they drizzled some of the sauce in small amounts on top of the sandwich which made my fingers a bit messy but honestly, it was so delicious I didn’t care all that much. The black bean rice wasn’t what I expected but in the best way! Usually “rice and beans” on the side means overcooked, unflavorful rice and soupy beans, but not here! The rice was fresh, and fluffy with whole black beans and green bell pepper mixed in. It was refreshing and added to the mean rather than acting as a sad plate filler. There were lightly pickled cucumbers and red onions that were so bright and cleansing! Absolutely scrumptious! There wasn’t a single thing on my plate I didn’t love. For the first time, in a long long time I thought “wow, this was worth the money and time to go out for!” Not to mention the price was very reasonable."
"Impressed. I didn’t know what to expect since this was the first time I’ve been here. We got here just as the restaurant opened for the day. There were already people waiting outside - which is a good sign! We were greeted and sat down pretty quickly. The hostess was friendly and inviting. Service was really good. The server came and asked for our drinks and gave us appropriate time to look at the menu. When our food came, my best friend and I were pleasantly surprised. We ordered a Cuban sandwich and Taquitos. Both were delicious ☺️ and satisfying. The taquitos were the perfect amount of meat to shell and sides ratio. The Cuban sandwich had delicious two types of pork (ham and pulled pork). Bread was properly toasted. I wish we had a bit more of the pesto oil and a bit of sauce to add moisture to the sandwich. Both dishes had pickles red onions, and cucumbers - impressive taste - refreshing and palette cleansing. The colorful sauce was jalapenos (red) and chipotle (brown) hot sauce. We also ordered the Caribbean Rum cake. It looked dense but surprisingly was light and fluffy and the rum can be tasted all over. It enhanced the spices of the cake and the sauce added depth."
"The food here is absolutely wonderful! It is a great experience and the service is even better! Rose made our night giving great suggestions for both food and drink! We can't wait to go back! The owner is also very sweet! 10 our of 10 recommend!"
"Absolutely amazing. The service was attentive but not overbearing. I didn’t catch his name, but he recommended his favorite, the pescado (tilapia) while my boyfriend got the Popeyes burrito. The food is heavenly. Its one of the best lunches we’ve ever had. Highly recommend! We left feeling satisfied:)"
"Excellent food, service, and atmosphere! Every visit to Rolando’s in the past had always been a first class experience with their food and service. Today was a beautiful warm fall day; a perfect day for a quick spin to Fort Smith to visit the new location. They are now in a beautifully restored and decorated building. It is has a classy, but comfortable South American themed décor throughout. The food is a modern fusion, of Central and South American recipes. The presentation of every plate is wonderful, as is the quality and taste of the food. It is not Tex- Mex or Mexican! It is flavorful, but not spicy! I think they have kicked things up a notch since they moved to the new location. We had Lulla’s Enchiladas and the Plato Adventura. Our food was excellent and the service was perfect. The waiter was Vincent. They have several, very good bottled salsas that work well with the flavors of the mild South American food. Be sure to ask for them, if you like to have a little more spice. Rolando’s is still my top pick of any restaurant in Fort Smith. If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check out my reviews in my collection "Jalapeno Highway" on Yelp. I've probably been there."
