"We are looking for parents who want to join in on a class action lawsuit against Booth-Fickett/ TUSD. Lots of parents who have had a child attend the school have had many upon many issues with the school that Booth Fickett sweeps under the rug and the District could care less about. The District lied and stated to the News they are pouring resources into the school but as a parent of children who attend that is a lie. Nothing will change at Booth Fickett K-8 magnet school our chidlrens home school until us parents come together and force a change. If you have had any issues at all please contact me. It is time for us parents to take a stand and force the changes our chidlren deserved and for the next generations to come. Please a Federal judge is already watching over the District it is time to let the special master from the courts know nothing has changed the problems that started the lawsuit is still alive and well and TUSD and Booth Fickett are in it for the want of a paycheck not for the care of our childrens education or safety while attending thier public home school TUSD has tried to keep everything in the dark for too long us as parents to child we love need to expose it."

"If i could give zero stars i would. This school is out of control and lacking fundamental educators like resource teachers for kids with IEPS. The kids are disrespectful and are never on task when i come to my sons class. Any parent looking fpr a better school in Tucson or with TUSD good luck and dont let the term "Magnet" school fool you. The only thing theyre a magnet for is disorder and poor educations"

"Do not work at this school as a teacher! Do not send your children to this school! I finally got the Art Teacher position and I was so happy but it turned into my worst nightmare. Students on the middle school side are bullying and harassing the teachers and other students. When the teachers ask for help in removing a student due to disruptive or disrespectful behavior no one comes. Hall monitors say they are busy doing something else or they are on break. Administration will not do anything unless 7 steps have been documated 1. Warning 2. Move to an assigned set 3. Fill out behavior contract (parent contact) 4. Student goes to a buddy room fills out behavior contract (parent contact) 5. Mrs. D the positive behavior specialist intervenes 6. Hall monitor escort student to administration with behavior contract filled out and referal to office form 7. Student continues behavior then the student and parents have mandatory In School Suspension ISS for a week. Located in a designated room with Assistant principal. In my oppinion it's giving students 7 opportunities to be disrespectful and mis-behave. It takes time away from the rest of the class who want to learn. While I was there 3 teachers quit, there were more subsitute teachers than regular teachers because the school can not get teachers in the classroom who want to be harassed, verbally, sexually, mentally, etc. every day. There is a safety issue going on at Booth Fickett that no one is addressing. Six graders are getting pushed down on the floor and trampled on during passing periods. Administration is checking backpacks for drugs, alcohol, contraband, etc without parent permission or informed that there child's personal items were searched. Students are pulling the fire drill sometimes 4 times a day. The students do not move to their destination they stand in the road which is not safe when fire truck and ambulances come down the road. When teachers tell the students to move they say, "FU I don't have to listen to you. I'll stand where I want." I asked a few other teachers to help me move the kids back off the street and they said, "Don't bother the student don't respect us they won't listen and we get no help from admin". I was stunned but just being there for one day you can see the students run the school. The principle is easily manipulated by students. All they have to do to stay out of trouble is tell her my mom and dad split up, I live under a bridge, I had a death in the family, etc. If a student dosent like a teacher they do everything in there power to get him/her fired. They accuse the teacher of physically or mentally hurting them so the school has to do an investigation. Even if the teacher is inocent the accusation and investigation shows other students the teacher is unsafe to be around and hurts the teachers reputation. Last year 50% of the teaching staff quit because of the disciplinary 7 step behavior contract that the district implemented. The principle disagreed on giving students 7 times to mis-behave and he got fired. The teachers left because they knew they would no longer be supported. This new principal is used to being an Elementary principal and has no idea how middle school students manipulate and lie to get what they want. In a PD meeting the principal said "Our students do not mis-behave with out a reason". The students are bullies and they get away with being bullies everyday. District is more concerned with numbers they do not want ISS or OSS. The school can not afford to expel the ones who go through the 7 steps but continue to mis-behave. Please again do not work at Booth Fickett or send your children there. Someone needs to speak for the kids and teachers who are harassed and bullied everyday by 12, 13, 14 year olds. Very sad, I could not work for a company who puts children in jeopardy/harms way and wont keep there teachers safe. It's supposed to be a bully free zone. "Ive been noticing that people are complaining about bulling. First off yes this school is bad. But i dont think some of the reasons are valid. I go here and i hate it alot but this is what i get for wanting to go there. First off. No one is bringing up the art teacher. Thats a story to long to fit here but shes insane. Also bulling dosint happen only because a school is bad. Bulling is something that happens to all schools. This school is full of bullys. And the school cant fo much about something that happens to all schools. Also i wouldn't say its the teachers its the students. If your child is misbehaving its probably because thats who they are really. Alot of kids here are just bad. Ill admit im not that good of a student either. But ya. Thats all really. But honestly someone fire the art teacher please. She sets off a terrible image."

"I LOVE the Kindergarten teachers and their curriculum. If your kid goes to kinder here you are in for a treat and your child will learn so much! I didn't like the experience my child had in the middle school side. There are too many incidents and not enough staff to handle it and/or the teachers don't handle the problems well. I did really like everyone in the front office and I think they are very nice people but that wasn't enough for me to want to keep my child in the school. In my opinion, the campus is just very big and there isn't enough staff."
