Farmers Insurance - Timothy Kott

"Tim Kott - a person of dubious character. Had been his client since 2000. I cancelled policies on 2/9/24 for effective date 2/10/24. He didn't cancel till 2/26/24 and then only after repeated communications to him. Farmers sent rebates for cancel date 2/26/24. Reached out to Kott for the difference in the rebates. Never heard from him. Will reach out to Farmers Insurance to see what they can do. BTW I went with Cincinnati Insurance - better coverage at lower rates than Farmers."

"Be warned of this man's attitude towards the customer who is struggling with today's economy and increases. I am so upset with the way I was treated by Tim Kott. I have been with Tim Kott/Farmers Insurance for 2.5 years with no claims. With my policies up for payment I decided to get a quote from Allstate Insurance (they have treated me with respect when I lived in Texas). When I called Tim to verify when my policies would expire, he asked to go over my new quotes. When I gave him the information from Allstate he actually laughed at me and said that's only $54 per year (this did not include my savings on my Auto policy) I told him I was financially strapped. He said "I have bigger fish to fry", and he had a customer in his office, he also said I was being "ridiculous" and he wanted to thank me for the "chuckle" that I gave him that day. I am just sorry I ever did business with this man, allowing him to treat me like I was nothing. I hadn't completely decided if I was going to switch agency's but thank you Tim, you helped me make up my mind."

"I have had Farmers for 3 years through Tim. Right from the beginning, I had a gut feeling there were going to be issues with this agent since he was horrible at communicating and returning phone calls or emails. He also never changed my billing address which I asked him many times to do and for some reason, my online account wouldn't allow me to change. Farmers have been raising my premiums on my autos every 6 months for the last few years so I figured it was time to shop around since Tim couldn't compete with other companies rates. When I sent him an email on May 5th stating the reason I was going to cancel effective May 15th, I never got a reply (typical Tim). So when a $99 charge from Farmers showed in my bank account I emailed Tim on May 19th. To my surprise, he actually responded and said: "if there are any monies owed you will be refunded". Then I received an email on the 19th from Farmers stating my policies were canceled effective the 19th (same day I emailed him..coincidence I think not). I ended up calling him the 22nd and said my polices were to be canceled the 15th like I had asked weeks previous not the 19th. Also on the cancellation email, he STILL had the wrong address listed so if a refund check is going to be sent it would go to the wrong address (I don't know how many times I told him the billing address is the same address that YOUR homeowners' insurance is covering...not an address that I sold and haven't lived at in over 3yr). he said he couldn't cancel my policy for the 15th (even though he already did on the 19th) unless I sent him it in writing (that's what an email is) and he wanted copies of my new insurance (probably to see the better rates and $700 annual savings I was now getting). Needless to say, he got very defensive and belligerent with me on the phone when I called him out on his "forgetfulness", lack of replying to emails and lying. He even threatened to hold my refund check. Tim finally admitted he got the email but had "better or real customers to deal with". I don't know how Farmers allows this guy to be an agent or even how he has customers, he's lazy, deceitful and lacks total professionalism. I ended up calling Farmers and got everything squared away no thanks to Timmy and also talked to the district manager about him. Be cautious of the fake reviews on his Farmers sight because he screens them and you can not add a review. Also, there are reviews from his own family members so of course, they are going to give a 5-star review. In closing Timothy Kott is the worst insurance agent I have ever dealt with!"
