"Our 6 year old son started here at age 5 and he loves it! There are kids of all ages and they group him with peers his own age so they can engage with one another. All the staff are so kind and helpful. They also provide Fall, Spring & Summer camps that our son loves! We couldn’t be happier with his progress :)"
"The kids are only really learning basic game dev and missing out on major, fundamental factors of computer science and theory are left out. Also it seems like you're only paying for the curriculum which could just be done at home, because the teaching experience is virtually non-existent."
"Our son really enjoys the personal coaching he gets and has a very good experience with coaches helping in the coding. Great center for young kids to get interested in coding and encouraging them to develop an interest."
"Meh. My kids did 2 hrs/week for about a year and I was never truly impressed with how it was run. Not a whole lot of guidance/teaching from the senseis. The kids were largely on their own. At one point the curriculum was just “Play Code Combat”, which my kids can do from home for free. We’re switching to code-a-kid and doing online tutoring. Little more expensive but they actually receive instruction."
"My son has been going to code ninjas for over two months now. I love the company’s structure. It uses a belt system similar to martial arts and by the time a child gets to black, they can code their own game. My son is still a white belt and technically doing his fundamental learnings first before he proceeds to actual white belt material. The issue I have is, my son like a lot of kids get distracted. If I didn’t stay during classes giving my son some gesture or look when my son loses focus, he wouldn’t get any work done. Depending on the day there will be anywhere between 3-15 other kids learning in the room. I can’t pinpoint lighter days and times because it’s random, but the days where there are over ten kids, I’m having to remind my son to pay attention at least a dozen times. I get when kids get together they want to goof around I understand that. The Sensei’s from time to time will remind the kids as well, I just wish there was something else making it easier for my son to focus. You can bring your kid as a walk in or make appointments online. If they switched to appointment only and had limited space per slot that might work out better and keep things a little quieter in the classroom. They are doing the best they can so I’m only dropping one star."
