"DO NOT LIVE HERE. It is inhabitable. It is unsafe. My apartment has flooded 5 times in the last 5 months. When I asked to switch units, they conveniently have had an excuse every time it’s been brought up. Infested with roaches. Mold, mildew. Poop and pee all over the property’s walking grounds. People who have filed issues with them and through the city have had the cops called on them and been evicted. I refuse to walk in my home because of all the fecal water that’s been on it time and time again. I have lost so much money having through away thousands of dollars of furniture due to water damage from all the floods. You are unable to control the heat, so it’s usually super hot in your unit. The management company recently switched and it didn’t even matter because it’s exactly the same. They couldn’t switch me out of my inhabitable unit because it “costs them money too, okay?” The people living in their cars in the parking lot look much happier and safer. The amount of broken glass all over the property is unsafe, please don’t walk barefoot or walk your pet out here. Smelled like cigarettes when we moved in. There are drug addicts located everywhere, waking us up 2, 3, 4, 5 in the morning. No matter how often you beg and plead for help, they’ll simply tell you that they will “get back to you in a week,” and never communicate with you again. Even when they do, nothing is fixed. I hope no one is tricked into living here, and you understand that despite them using verbiage that elevates the complex, it’s truly not worth the headache and they don’t care if you’re safe. They’ll simply make you deal with your inhabitable home. Please be careful. I know it’s cheap, but you end up spending more money on repairing your life, than you would picking a different complex. Please do not live here."
"This property is a joke. Management is extremely unhelpful; even with the change in management recently, the new management is just as bad as old management. Our apartment flooded 5 TIMES in 5 months, and nobody cared enough to come fix our issue despite MULTIPLE emails and visits to the office on a daily basis. Our bathroom was not usable for over 48 hours, our wifi was out for 4 days after they “fixed” the plumbing issue, multiple outlets in our apartment are faulty, and the towel rack in our bathroom has fallen off repeatedly despite maintenance coming to “fix” it. On top of all that, management won’t file any paperwork for the issues in your apartment and then tell you that you’re lying about the issues. You’ll get attitude from everybody in the office if you raise concerns about the livability of your apartment, and if you’re really lucky, they’ll call the police on you. If you love yourself and your mental health, do NOT rent here."
"Do not move here. I cannot advice enough, DO NOT MOVE INTO HERE OR ANY TIDES/RPM OWNED PROPERTY My fiancé and I have recently been screwed over big time by property management company RPM living, the owners of the prominent “The Tides” apartments with 18 locations across the valley. Many Phoenicians may be familiar with their image and seedy history, but I doubt many are aware of the actual torment these people put their tenants through. My fiance and I were trying to find a place to move into because we were at risk of homelessness. That is awful for anyone, but especially for us as a disabled, queer citizens who are at even more risk. The Tides at East Broadway promised us a move-in date and quality renovated apartment. Upon arrival we were subject to a bait-and-switch scam where they claimed our promised apartment was unavailable, but an even more expensive renovated apartment was available. They knew we were desperate as a soon to be a homeless couple and we had to take the offer. Despite their promises this apartment was up to code and nice, this was far from the case. We found several housing violations including but not limited to roaches, bowing ceiling, unworking appliances, exposed wiring, and, worst of all, an inoperable air conditioning leaking refrigerant. This would be bad enough on its own, refrigerant is a carcinogen, but this was during July one of the worst months for heat in history. This isn’t even to mention faulty keys, laundry facilities, exposed needles and pills in shared facilities, and the front desk staff smoking and shooting up at the pool at night. We have photos and proof of all of the above. We stayed there for the time being, but understood legally and morally we didn’t have to pay any rent or sign a lease. So we contacted our lawyer who contacted them and told Tides and RPM the same thing. They continued to pester us with their eviction threats and the like, but again we stayed firm with Arizona law backing us up. They sent a maintenance man to look at the unit after months of waiting and he advised us there was no way to fix it. Even if they replaced the unit, the ceiling would continue to bow in before caving in. Eventually we found a new place after this talk because we made peace that couldn't be fixed and we couldn’t be given a new apartment. Bear in mind that they were under every legal obligation to make this right, but we decided to make it easier for them and leave. In the process of us moving out, the landlords decided to retaliate against us and throw out all of our belongings for trash and neighbors to collect. This in spite of our next-door neighbor telling them we were going to be back in a few days. We lost nearly everything in the move because of these people. Now they are sending collections to us and threatening to destroy our credit because we’re in debt to them. Essentially charging rent for uninhabitable apartments. We know we’re not the only ones affected by this. Between our talks with neighbors and reviews online we can tell that this is far from an uncommon circumstance. So we’re calling for anyone who’s been living like crap to follow us in demanding what we deserve."
"Old run down apartment, roach infested. The newest property management group are slum lords. Getting things fixed is extremely difficult. Staff even said the property management group doesn't want to spend money if they can get away with it. There are constant water shut offs. The "chiller" which is an evaporative cooler with freon cooled water, doesn't work well in summer and also has occasional shut downs as well. Don't be surprised if it takes 6 months of arguing with them to get things fixed."
"The worst experience with an apartment complex in my life! Management is terrible and there is no one ever in the office. I am trying to get my refund check and was working with a property manager called MEMORY and Rosa, don’t be fooled by their gift of gab they are NOT on your side. While I’ve been chasing around trying to find the right person to talk to for my refund check she blocks me! Something so easy they make so hard just give me my refund check! I hope corporate sees this. #tideswashedout"
