Gateway at Tempe

"I moved in August 2023 and was shown a completely different model and was told by the person who gave me the tour that this was the model I would receive. It was not. The unit I received I had dingy falling apart counters and cabinets, there were holes in the walls and the whole place with filthy upon move in. Our AC/Heater never works and our dishwasher and washing machine is always breaking and when we tell the office about this issues they never seem to care when we say we think there is water damage. They have random inspections with no notice of when it is actually going to happen which is very offsetting to find a man in your apartment saying they’re from gateway. The homeless population is everywhere and there are registered sex offenders is the surrounding areas. The WIFI has been out for THREE days and every time I call nobody at the office in uniformed and does not care about the students living here, maintenance and the office has said for three days straight that they are currently fixing it and it’ll be fixed “soon” and it never is. There are so many problems with gateway that they refuse to acknowledge and they keep changing their parking policies, not to mention they make your guests pay for parking or they get towed away. The gate also is never working and the office didn’t even both to give their residents the pedestrian gate codes unless you ask for it. They are making renovations which is causing more harm then good and fresh paint and new appliances are not going to fix everything wrong with this place. They are raising the rent by $200, I am glad I did not renew. Do not live here."

"DO NOT SIGN A LEASE HERE!! If I could give this place zero stars I would. I regret re-signing my lease to live in this disgusting place another year. Management sucks, amenities and units themselves are a joke for how much rent is, and I don’t feel safe living here because of the multiple break ins, stolen packages, and more. I got a “cleanliness” warning for having five dishes in the sink. This place sucks."

"BEWARE !!! After paying $185 application fee I received a copy of the lease. THE FIRST Paragraph states "we may assign another person to share a bedroom with you " . We toured for my daughter and assured an individual bedroom. I called and it is very very!! difficult to speak with anyone except the young kids at the desk there. I finally got a call back from a manager and expressed my concern and he reported thats how the contract is written but they won't put anybody else in her room. If it's in the contract on paper that is the agreement. They would not make a written change nor refund me my fee. Also many !! areas in lease mention residents responsible for pipe leaks in apartment. Stay Away Many many complaints of broken gates, BUGS etc"

"I was supposed to move in August 15th 2021 and the room should have been ready by 11 a.m. After I had already paid for everything and got my keys, I walked in, and it was a MESS. It was completely unsanitary with maintenance issues and there was no way I could move in with the conditions it was in. I talked to the property manager and it still wasn’t fixed. I came back August 16th in the morning to see if I could get my issues fixed. The property manager did not talk to me but I was able to talk to the maintenance manager and he did say my room would be cleaned and fixed on August 17th in the morning, so the earliest I might be able to move in is that afternoon. Keep in mind, I paid to be living there since August 15th and I’ve been making my own accommodations with no sort of compensation. Here are some of the issues just in pictures. It’s too late to find a lease somewhere else with my classes starting on Thursday."
