"I was pretty worried when I moved in cuz there were several issues (roaches everywhere, fridge didn't seal properly, no screen door, washer/dryer coated in dog hair, bathroom faucet had been leaking so long it was a science project, etc). But they sent pest control to spray the next day. And then Maintenance Technician Billy showed up. He walked the unit with me to discuss my concerns. He was friendly and communicated really well what he was going to do. He confirmed things with me before doing it. He went above and beyond to fix the issues immediately cuz in his words, "I take my job seriously because people live here." Greystar needs to do whatever they can to make sure Billy stays employed here. All the raises and promotions. I've been renting for 25 years and he's easily the best maintenance person I've ever interacted with. This review would be 1 star if not for him. I'm still deducting 1 star from the rating til landscaping shows up to deal with the patio area, which was left littered with trash and an unholy amount of dog hair and poop. In general, the unit should've been in better shape before I moved in. But at least they were fast to deal with the issues when reported. I like the layout of my 1 bedroom. The complex itself has a good layout with multiple entrances. So you don't deal with much traffic in the parking lot, despite there being so many units. And it's super quiet at night, which is great. I'm just learning the management company pays the water bill for the entire complex, and then charges the residents equal shares. So it doesn't matter if you're careful with your water usage. You're still paying a hefty share for 2 pools, a sprinkler system and however much water everyone else uses. Pretty lame business practice as it seems to be done just to save them money on meters, and the water for the public areas."
"Roaches of every size and over 60 + treatments through 2 ¹/² years! The first 4 of which included me packing up the entire contents of my kitchen and bathrooms. The rest of the treatments have been a sickening series of baiting, spraying from various techs with a ton of residue left behind. I'm currently in week 9 of a 5 week clean out that they already did in April of 2023 that did not work. Nothing works - yet they blame me after all this time and immaculate living. I have done everything they've asked and risked my family in hopes it was solved each time. The final straw was finding nymphs in our water crock at Christmas. Dangerous! Avana gave me the option in 11/23 to end my lease early or transfer to another unit since they said they couldn't satisfy me, but when I tried to transfer they said I would need to pay a new tenant $275 non refundable deposit and re-qualify income for rent payments and that my disabled daughter would need to qualify too. I have been here 7 years with exceptional payment record! I won't even go into maintenance requests that never get done or closed out without repair. I am not the first to speak of roaches -trust the reviews already on here."
"This place is disgusting, from property to units. I could go on and on about maintenance requests from 2 years ago when I first moved in marked as “complete” without anyone ever showing up but I’ll just mention a very HUGE one for me. My washer was leaking for over a year and they kept closing my tickets and never showing up. The front office gave a half a dozen excuses about “system issues” and “turnover.” Well, I got very sick and started coughing x3 months. I finally was sent to the ER. They ran tests and found out I had mold toxicity in my system. I had to threaten them to get my washer fixed and demand the floor replaced. They didn’t sanitize anything and laid the flooring over the mold! They never changed the floor boards or fixed the wall which still have mold. I will not be signing another lease. Greystar is an unethical property management company and should be careful of lawsuits for their negligence and unsafe environments. Avana/Greystar your response here will not be genuine and is not welcome. Please speak to me directly if you do have concerns with my concerns."
"I can’t say I would recommend living here. It’s been about 6 months of living here and I wouldn’t say we have had a greatest experience. When we moved in we had an issue with our outlets not working and it took about 3 weeks for the issue to get resolved after bugging the office. Slowly over the next few months our apartment fell apart with our washer and dryer causing a leak in one of our closets. Going almost a month without a Washer and Dryer Functioning. To another leak in our ceiling that was handled but we still have holes that haven’t been fixed. They say “Our goal is to provide the best possible living experience, and we apologize if you've been inconvenienced in any way. Our team takes pride in providing prompt, thorough maintenance service” But I feel as though this statement they make has not been meeting anyone’s standards The only good thing about living here has been Billy, he has been so amazing. He is personable, he communicates well and makes me feel like the job will be handled. He deserves all the stars because of how accountable he has been and he goes above and beyond to make sure everything is taken care of The office can be hit and miss with responses. I feel like I am always getting different answers but I do appreciate Cynthia for always being helpful and kind."
"I would like to preface the 2 stars is not for Billy, but how our situations were handled prior to him being on the maintenance team. Billy deserves beyond 5 stars. After over a month of not having a washer and dryer, and multiple maintenance requests, Billy from maintenance was persistent on making sure our issue was fixed. And it finally is. He is great at communicating about what is going on and expectations on what should be happening next. Every time he comes over, he is friendly and personable and is determined to get the job done. I wish he had more support so he can continue to make improvements across the complex, but he was definitely a blessing for us when we thought we were going to be defeated with the issues we were facing. Again, thank you Billy, we appreciate you and all of your hard work."
