"No deposit, pretty quiet place normally so far. Carpet was even installed correctly(weird for apartments in my experience so far lol.) I like to keep to myself, so not seeing people trying to interact with me randomly when I do go out is a big plus. Loving it."
"Overall I have had a pretty pleasant experience. The few things that have been an issue have been handled fairly well by the office. I do however find a couple things a bit strange, they do not do quarterly inspections and you have to request pest control? Overall my experience has been pleasant especially with the maintenance. The men that work maintenance are very friendly and helpful. They are great!"
"Other tenants were out of control. Drug use although now legal for Marijuana was still a huge daily smell throughout the entire complex. The homeless community that use the pool and laundry area for their own purposes caused daily issues. There is literally a full homeless encampment right behind the trash cans and along the edges of all the parking area to the west. Noise all night long in and out of the parking lots and other units in the complex. I called the police several times in my short three months in my unit. I wound up moving out but still paying for the apartment to sit vacant as to not effect my rental history because there was no relief for my family even tho we had obtained restraining orders protecting my children and I both from neighbors in the complex. Copies were provided to the office as well as multiple on record complaints made thru the office voicemail system. We no longer felt safe and the office could have cared less. I am a single mom of four and I couldn’t risk my children’s wellbeing. No common area rules pertaining to supervision of children caused great issues especially at the pool. Many residents leave primary school aged children home daily without supervision at the knowledge of staff. Maintenance was quick and way effective. Office staff was there… I strongly encourage future residents to consider other complexes first before Somerpointe."
"So I am completely editing my review. 10 months ago things were very different here, but now it is so awful. A lot of these negative reviews I completely agree with. Roaches, mice, ac being on 24/7 with my electric bill for a 1 bdrm was $300 during the summer because it doesn’t cool down at all, the living room is like 15-20 degrees hotter than the bedroom. I can’t afford that, but I have a pet and can’t just not leave my air on during the day. These families moved in, and now every single night toys, scooters, shoes, trash are all left out like it’s their own personal backyard. The new thing now are the drunken neighbors. There are drunk men fighting on multiple occasions, but nothing is done, it scared my kids because one time was during the day when my child was out walking my dog and it happened right in front of him. That is not okay. Homeless people digging in the trash on a daily basis, seen several homeless people either shooting up or nodding out by the dumpsters. Maintenance doesn’t do anything, I reported a large crack in my tub 4 times over 2 months and nobody contacted me but I got a text saying it was solved..nobody even came in the apt to check. Management is awful. Best part, a couple months ago I was looking into renewing my lease, on it had a $36 extra fee per month deposit waiver fee, which was confusing so I called and spoke with someone in the office asking about it and they said that it doesn’t pertain to me because I am a renewal not a new resident who is required to pay a deposit fee. I was told by this person and asked for clarification 3 times that they “throw away that part of the lease” and she assured me that I won’t have this fee. So I signed it. Come a few weeks ago I had to call this office again and was told by Veronica, the manager, that oh no you DO have that fee, she said it’s infinite so as long as I live on the property no matter how many times I renew, I will forever be charged that fee. I argued with her because 1 that’s not what I was told just a few weeks prior and 2 that is absolutely not right. They screw you bad here and it’s not even worth the amount we have to pay with all the extras and fees and now I am stuck in a place paying money to live somewhere that neither I nor my kids feel safe anymore. Oh also being harassed by neighbors and people not picking up after their dogs. I could keep going. But yeah. Don’t move here."
"This is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. The management and staff changed at least a dozen times I lived there and they all had their own rules they enforced. For 3 years we had a hummingbird feeder hanging from our patio then all the sudden we were given an eviction notice for having one out because it's against the lease to hang anything on your patio. Weekly someone would park directly behind my car and block me in and they never bothered to do anything about it. I was harassed in the parking lot buy a maintenance person's relative (who was living in his car in the parking lot) and they didn't care that he was there at all. His tags were expired and he constantly left trash that fell out of his car all over the lot. The laundry rooms (both of them) almost never work right, I probably lost at least $100 over the 4 years I was there. The fitness room was just redone so that is nice but it was down for 2 years straight while they tried to get the floors done. I asked them weekly about it for a year before finally giving up. The apartments themselves are very, very cheaply made, the counterparts stain and break apart no matter how much you try to keep them clean. The ovens are old and the burners are uneven so if you cook I would definitely acid your place. The staff isn't friendly, especially the current property manager. Also, like most apartments, they pad your finally bill with all kinds of extra charges even if it's their fault. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!"
