"Amazing staff and doctors! Surgery is always a stressful situation. The entire staff made us feel comfortable throughout the whole process."
"Staff is nice when you’re in for a procedure however the scheduling/billing is a pain. Had to have emergency surgery in Feb 2023, facility called me to schedule urgently which was great until I got a call the following day advising due to my insurance I would have to pay 3K out of pocket. When I asked for a reasonable payment arrangement I was told I had to pay 1/3 of the amount of owed THAT DAY and for a payment arrangement on the remaining balance they could split this into (3) payments which was going to be over $500 a month. I explained that this was not affordable to have a monthly payment of $500 a month and asked for this to be spread out further and was told no. I even asked for a manager to please make an exception because I had already been with a broken ankle for over a week and I was in tremendous pain. I wasn’t trying to avoid paying I was just asking for a longer repayment plan. I work and have the ability to pay however can’t afford to add $500 a month to my normal expenses. NOPE! No exception made. I now have to go back in for a second procedure and unfortunately this is the facility my surgeon uses. I called today to find out what my out of pocket expense will be and was told the scheduler will call me 1-2 weeks before the surgery to verify insurance and advise of out of pocket expenses. I explained to the woman that I need to make arrangements with work and financially so I need to know what I have to pay. She advised a procedure for 4 weeks is too far out for them to give me this information now. After my upcoming procedure, (if I am able to have it) and if I don’t get a call saying I have to pay thousands of dollars immediately —I pray I never have to be seen here again. The staff is NOT concerned about the patients well being."
"Such amazing staff and doctors at this location. Everyone was so welcoming and pleasant towards us. Surgeries are very scary and the way everyone presents themselves helped take away so much of our fears and anxiety leaving us comfortable and confident throughout our experience and time at this facility. Thank you all for everything you do and your amazing support and the encouragement you provided to us. We really appreciate the love and care we received."
"Had surgery at Desert Ridge. Staff was great! Loved the nurses. They were caring and comforting and patient, which let’s be honest, we need when we’re about to have surgery. They know it’s unnerving and they do their best to make you as comfortable as possible. Anesthesiologist, Dr. Summer’s was fantastic, as well as my doc Dr. Plotnick. The staff kept my husband updated the whole time which he really appreciated."
"I am actually updating my review from 1 star to 3 stars. The reason I gave them 1 star initially is because I develop a lump around my IV site, never had that after surgery before. My Primary Care doctor informed me that a superficial blood clot can develop and it is painful, but not life threatening. Since I had never had that happen before I immediately thought the Nurse who gave me the IV did something wrong, good to know that is not the case! The reason for the 3 star review still is for two reasons. The first being the Anesthesiologist group that they use is horrible, I met the Anesthesiologist for a whole 5 minutes, he barely spoke to me, and I felt a little uncomfortable having that guy give me Anesthesia. Second reason for the three star review is that after surgery I felt rushed to wake up and get out of there. I couldn't even open my eyes and I was vomiting so bad, but I was discharged and let go home. I also do not live in Phoenix, I still had to travel almost 2 hours to get home. So, it was a little scary to say the least. I don't even remember getting home. The Front desk staff was super nice and helpful. Most of the Nurses were great. Of course I love my Surgeon he is awesome!"
