"West Valley Family Development Center is the worst for keeping their appointments! Three times we made appointments with them for our 8 year old son to see a therapist; and all three times they canceled on us, either at the last minute or after we already arrived. The first time they tried to blame me for not showing on the right day; when I made the appointment, I repeated to the receptionist three times the day and time, and she confirmed it. When we showed up on the scheduled date, she tried to tell us it was the day prior. Okay, accidents happen. On the reschedule date, which was the day before their Christmas break, half of the office was out sick; how convenient. On the third visit, which they guaranteed we would be see the following week from the second visit, they over booked. The receptionist showed no concern for our troubles of showing up there without any notice of the cancelation. Last time, they will not get a forth from us. We originally made the first appointment in October, and as of 12/29/17 he has still not been seen. We will now find a different therapist."

"I am very unhappy with my experience here. For several weeks now I have been trying to book my son for his first consult. My insurance even approved the first few sessions and I had to call them again to follow up to make his first appointment even though they had said they would call me. Only to be told that the doctor had referred my son elsewhere (without even receiving a phone call). I explained that the doctors referral had nothing to do with his needs. His file was suppose to be resubmitted for Dr. review and I was again suppose to get a call back which I never did. I called once again only to find his file had not been resubmitted I have been waiting for over a month now to book his first appointment, mind you the first appointment will still be 6 weeks out. I am very frustrated that his needs where not cared for and never did I receive any communication back from their office, I was the one that had to keep calling to figure out what the status was. I have experience very poor customer service and it is very unfortunate when children have to go through this when they are in need."

"VERY UNPROFESSIONAL - The office staff is horrible and has no clue what they are doing half the time. Several appointments were mixed up and cancelled without our knowledge. ~ My husband and I scheduled an appoitment for couples counseling. We went to the initial intake and met with Dr Kemper and she assigned to Dr Stacy Davis. We had to wait 6 weeks to get in for our first appointment with Dr Davis. When we arrived for our session we were told Dr Davis was out of the office and our appointment was canceled, however no one from the office called us to infom us. We had both taken time off work to attaend the session. Dr Davis was booked out several more weeks so we were assigned to Dr Paluc instead who mostly deals with children. We still had to wait two weeks for that appoitment. We saw Dr Paluc for a few sessions and she decided to leave WVFDC and open her own practice. We were then placed with Dr Stacy Davis. On our second visit with Dr Davis we opened up about our unruly 17 year old child. We had one 45 min conversation about our child and the Dr jumpped to conclusions without even knowing the history behind everything that had been going on throughout the years and assumed that we were negleting our child so she called the Department of Child Safty on us. She didnt even have the common curtesy to let us know she was going to call to keep that theraputic realationship between us. She snuck behind our backs and called as soon as we left the office. What a waste of the states time to have to investage "NO neglect". Finding were unsubstantianted which was no surprise to us. Needless to say we cancelled all future appoitments and will never return to that office again. Unfortunately my husband and I feel that we cant open up about our relationship and our child to any future counselors to recieve the help we need because that trust has been broken."

"I understand there are many low reviews, but, if it wasn't for my counselor, I would be in a much darker place mentally without this center. My counselor has been helping me for over three years and has been amazing. Val Kemper remembered me after I moved away for a year and a half and then came back, and she placed me with my old counselor again. My psychiatrist also recommended Val Kemper, but I was already using their services. I have never had any issues with the facility, and I really don't understand the poor reviews it has received."

"In my opinion this practice is completely unprofessional. There is no continuity of care and a complete lack of empathy for patients. I saw a family therapist for several months. I randomly get a call that the appointment I had scheduled for that day was cancelled because my therapist was no longer there. The front desk recommended for me to start seeing another therapist within the practice. Obviously they don't understand that you can't just start going to another therapist and pick up where you left off. I asked if my therapist moved to another practice and they refused to give me any information. I would not recommend going here."
