"Points Chaos and poor workout area As a long and frequent time Marriot world-wide guest, this experience was such a disappointment. Good news: Close to where I needed to be Clean room Friendly staff Great and hard working breakfast staff Bad news: I booked my initial say with points. Fine. I called to add a day early. They scooched my points days foreword and booked the new night on the last day of my points reservation, rather than my NEW weekday (Thursday) night and thus charged almost $300 by making it a weekend stay. Calling a foul, and as this is ethically wrong and procedurally a mistake, it makes me feel so taken advantage of as this is an absurdly difficult experience to explain- so I gave up trying to explain on the phone. Very disappointing workout area. Please see the pics. Why? 1. No basics. 2. No bench. 3. Please see my pics of the weights. No way for a proper workout. 4. Floor is super filthy. 5. Eastern window – thus super-hot in the AM, also it connected to the laundry and dryers as if not hot enough. Eastern glass walls and western dryers! 6. No towels. 7. No water. 8. Look at my pic of emergency phone – absent! 9. This is a great example of neglect and a safety risk. PS: no servicing of my room on the first 2 nights."
"This hotel was a huge disappointment and not at all representative of Marriott properties. We were there for a memorial service and had it not been too late to cancel and find another hotel on a Friday night, we would have left. The room is horribly outdated and very poorly maintained.........peeling wallpaper, a crack in the sink, substandard lighting, and even a corded wall phone next to the toilet! The only good thing we experienced was the very nice breakfast on Saturday morning. Marriott really should reconsider keeping this property as a Marriott branded hotel."
"I’ve never experienced racism in my life! I stayed one night. That same night I went outside to smoke. I put a the filter from the smoke inside a plastic wrapper put it in my pocket then went back to my room. That morning I cleaned out my pockets inside the hotel . I left out for a few hours only to get a call from the desk saying I had to leave the hotel . The reason they put me out is because the housekeeper took a picture of the filter I had in my pocket . I couldn’t believe it. The front desk lady was so rude towards she didn’t give me a receipt she just wanted me out of the building. It’s been 3 days I still haven’t talked to a manager . Still no refund for the second day that I was put . Finally talked to the manager Aron he was so rude! He told me the room smelled like weed for two days which was a lie because I never smoked inside that room no where in that building. He told me he did not want to hear what I have to say then hung the phone up on me. Mind you he never called me i had to hunt him down only to get called a liar smh I was suppose to pay 51 dollars the for the room (explore rate) that manager charged my card 460.00 he told me I can’t have a refund and to call customer service if I want to talk. I’m not sure if the whole staff was racist but that’s how I feel about it because they treated me terrible! i really didn’t smoke in that room being a former employee at the Marriott why would I do that. I called cooperate and customer care no one could help me."
"Went into the jacuzzi with my wife. The next day when we woke up the ends of her hair were all green. The desk said that they had put some chemical into it the day before. Not harmful. Nice place with a restaurant next store that was great to walk to and walk back to the room."
"This location is a viable option if you're in a pinch and need to stay in the Oro Valley area. Good restaurants and shopping nearby. We have stayed at various Marriott properties all over the US. This stay was our 23rd this year. That being said, this hotel is very dated compared to all the others. USB plugs are an afterthought. Furniture is old, stained, and worn. Bed was very, very firm. The window was not necessary, because our view was a wall and another window that looked into a hallway. The reason for the lower rating is because of the shower. There was no warm or hot water! Hopefully the other rooms didn't have this same issue. Thankfully we were here only the one night. Hopefully this location will get some TLC because there is a lot of potential."
