"I think everyone has experienced a pushy/overbearing employee or two if they’ve ever shopped here. I assume the workers are rewarded for making a sale, or are paid commission, because their determination to make a sale by bringing you seven pairs of socks/shoes you didn’t ask for just for you to push aside and not try on (because you didn’t ask for them), would be confusing otherwise. I understand that they’re most likely trained to do this/it’s part of their job, but if that’s the case I wish journeys would stop making their employees do that, because it’s extremely uncomfortable and turns me off to the idea of shopping there unless I know I’m 100% buying a pair of shoes that day (which is rarely ever, maybe once a year or less). I pretty much avoid even walking in front of the store because sometimes the employees will try to get you to come in. That being said, journeys does usually have the most up-to-date options and trendiest shoes. They have good diversity and usually have what you’re looking for. Unfortunately that one really good thing is dampened by the uncomfortable vibes of feeling like you’re being forced to purchase something."

"Went in here with my husband and 1 yr old and within 5 minutes was harassed by an employee because his manager made him follow us around the store and ask several times if we “needed help.” I’m an African American female, employees were white and he didn’t talk to any other customers. Take what you want from that."
