"I thoroughly enjoyed Gus's spicy fried hot chicken. It was a culinary delight that left me wanting more. While it can get busy at times and is slightly on the pricier side, I believe the unique flavors and high-quality ingredients make it well worth the visit. Some people might refer to it as a 'hole in the wall,' but I find that such establishments often serve the best food because you're paying for the quality of the meal rather than ambiance or overhead costs."

"Really good chicken and really good sides. The people are friendly, too! We really like the look and feel of the place, as well. The chicken tenders are huge, the mac and cheese and the fried okra should be on your plate, too. There's outdoor seating for when the weather is nice or you can dine inside. Gotta love how many cool new spots are coming to downtown Mesa. This is certainly one of them."

"Crispy, succulent, and mouth-moistening, taste so good it'll make you wanna...thank your mother for bringing you into existence to taste this pinnacle of fried chicken. I lived in the southeast during college and, in my opinion, this is one of the best of the best. No frills, but goodness at a great price point. I prefer dark meat most of the time, but that white meat was glistening and made me a changed man. I made the mistake of bringing some friends from out of state to another joint, and they revoked my recommendation privileges for fried chicken. I had to redeem myself for when they returned, and I was hoping Gus's was the answer. It was! They begged me to drop by before they left the state, and they took a feast back home with them. That plane must have smelled damn good, sorry, not sorry. If you want fried chicken to make you question why you didn't eat here sooner, then this is the joint without a doubt. It's worth the 30-minute drive, I'll be back for sure!"

"Hiatt, the waitress was absolutely Awesome! Her service is outstanding and our drinks were never empty. The food was outstanding as well. All southern and very very delicious. I’ll be back and I’ll be bragging about this place forever!"

"Craving some good fried chicken when we got to Phoenix. Stumbled upon this place driving through Mesa's downtown. Plenty of side parking and free. Seat yourself and the servers are super attentive. They will come around to check on you when you're ready to order. Ordered a 3 piece meal that came with 2 sides. Also ordered some fried okra as well. The food came out hot and fast. Chicken is well seasoned, a little on the spicier side but loved the flavor and the taste. They are quick to come refill your cups for drinks. Servers are super friendly as well. A laid back place to enjoy lunch and roll out of there when you've stuffed your bellies full! Cannot wait to come back again on my next visit to Mesa. Apparently, they have amazing desserts as well. We were just too full to get dessert. Multiple locations of this chicken place in Arizona."
