"Gorgeous lake and a great hike to get to it! The road to the trail head is pretty rough for the last half mile or so, definitely wouldn't attempt without high clearance and AWD."

"What a strenuous hike on a very hot day! Huckleberries are huge and plentiful! Hubby couldn't make it up the last half mile to the lake. Beautiful alpine lake. Stuck my feet in the water and probably warmed the lake up 10-15 degrees. Glad I made it to the top."
"This is a spectacular trail that stretches about 10 miles out and back. The river crossing at the first part of the trail is virtually impassable in the early season, so I would wait till late June before even attempting it. The short section of road before the trailhead would be best with a high clearance vehicle, otherwise you can park about a half mile out and start from there. Bear box is located next to the lake."
