"Probably the best company for which I've ever worked. Granted, the amenities for drivers here are...well, basically non-existent. But NBP will sell you ribeye for like $12 a pound, so it all works out in the end. I have a very happy and terribly overworked grill. Edit: they've resolved that whole "non-existent amenities" problem; they now have a real shop, showers and a lounge area for drivers, offices with people who can fix issues, probably more stuff I'm forgetting. It's a real terminal now. Yay!"

"National Carriers by what I know is a good group of folks. With that said, I tried to reach out to their safety department on Wednesday 10/25/23 to report one of their livestock trucks driving very dangerously. Another truck and myself were moving 16' wide mobile homes on US 160 between US 54 and US 83 and traveling at the posted speed limit. This driver, in a truck with National Carrier signs and a National Carrier livestock trailer decided that the posted speed limit was not enough and passed us both. The issue is that US 160 at this point has no shoulders, is 20-22 foot wide and we're hanging into the opposing lane to avoid dragging our tires in the grass at 16' wide. This guy was so close that I don't know how he didn't hit the house or my mirrors. So, I tried to report this to National Carrier safety and have yet to hear anything from their safety department. Try calling National Carrier sometime and pick any prompt other than recruiting and see how that goes for you. Their system continually hung up on me until I went through recruiting. The individual who put me through to safety may have been disciplined based on what I experienced trying to help a carrier this size by pointing out a ridiculously unsafe driver. 32 years of driving cmv's and this rates pretty high on the stupid-o-meter. With all this said, a buddy of mine worked with National Carrier on their refrigerated division and has always spoken highly of everyone. This is why I give 2 stars and not 1. National Carriers, I respectfully express my disappointment in the operational status of being open to public comment from someone who isn't just trying to cause problems. I've been in safety and operations, as well as operations manager for trucking companies and I took time to go and shadow my trucks without notice and I always investigated the accuracy of any public reports for substance and then followed up with my drivers accordingly. Maybe your managers have gotten away from basics, but based on your livestock fleet (this is the worst of many instances over the last couple years) upper management needs to reevaluate your personnel choices at multiple levels. I hope the best for you all and hope that if I ever review National Carrier again it will be positive"

"Zero safety concern when pulling into or driving in a Truck Stop parking lot. Nearly got ran over twice just trying to walk across the parking lot to go inside in Dodge City, Ks. Their training must be short and sweet."
