"Old property management group was kind and reliable. The new property management, Monarch Investment and Management Group, increased rent prices, added a handful of bogus fees, and quietly modified rental payment practices as to seemingly increase the occurrence of late fees. On top of that, some of the office staff are rude. The hours posted on the door are unreliable. I've showed up on multiple occasions during business hours to find the door locked a no one inside. I even had a one employee simply ignore me while I knocked at the door. Additionally, they gave a surprising amount of resistance when I requested to view copies of my lease history with the property--even going so far as to tell me one time that they did not have records (aren't companies legally required to keep records for at least one year?). Overall: old buildings, shady management group, rude employees. Location and maintenance staff are nice though. You decide if you want to roll the dice or not. Just triple check every detail about rental requirements before signing."
"My partner and I have lived at Cross Creek for about two years and chose to leave about two months ago to take our first steps into getting a bigger place. We had a horrible experience at the new rental we were at and every night my partner and I were there we thought about how bad we miss Cross Creek. Fortunately we were given the opportunity to leave our lease and Jessica and Kori here at Cross Creek welcomed us back with open arms! We were already stressed as is but Jessica and Kori made the transition back as smooth as they could. I also want to take time to say they work hard and always assist with maintenance. They take care of things as quickly as they can! Also, my favorite part about living here is the newsletter they release every month! The newsletter provides updates, ways to maintain your home and even recipes! When you get the chance take time to read them! We are so happy to be back and appreciate all the hard work Jessica, Kori and Austin put in!"
"I love the office staff; Jessica, Kori. They are always so nice and welcoming. They know all the residents, furry ones included. The community is quiet and beautiful. Location makes up for the lack of amenities like a pool. If you wanna feel at home with a friendly welcoming staff this is it."
"We moved in under the old ownership and loved the place. It was no frills and a cheap place to live while we saved up for a house. Then new management took over in January 2023 and everything went downhill. Between all of the fees and the rent increase our monthly bill was going up $105 a month after we were told no rent increases would be anticipated. Additionally, every single month (sometimes more than once a month) they found a reason to enter our apartment: bug spray, filter check, fire inspection. It got real old, real quick. Surely there was a way to combine some of those. Also, watch your bill because under the new ownership, I found billing problems twice where we were overcharged or double charged. In all, this complex used to be great but is now overpriced, overbearing, and the customer service is horrendous."
"I have had a good experience living here so far under the old management, and I have been here almost five years. Now, we apparently have a new management company, which wasn’t shared with the current residents, except to give us a flyer on our door after it happened. Now, I’m looking through the new website and seeing increases in pet rent prices for multiple pets ($40 for one and $75 for two), that I’m going to be responsible for more utilities than I was under the old management, and there must be five different phone numbers listed for the office - none of which work when you call. I submitted a post on the bulletin board in the resident app, and it has been awaiting approval for almost three weeks. Makes me wonder if they will even see my maintenance request? I’m curious as to what my rent will go up to now when the lease expires this year? One would think that, if you’re going to change prices, utility responsibility, etc., that you’d make your residents aware of this? Oh, and they don’t do a security deposit anymore. Something about a Credit Approval Fee that starts out at $250-$300 and goes up depending on your credit history. What if I’ve paid a security deposit? Do I still receive that back if/when I move out? This is a really expensive apartment complex with few amenities, honestly. They have a dog park, basketball court, on-site laundry room, and BBQ area. I don’t have a dog, I don’t play basketball, I rent a washer and dryer (additional $40/month), and I don’t really host picnics or BBQs. I am hoping that these changes will iron themselves out as the new management “settles in,” but it’s a bit unsettling when it comes as a surprise without any advance notice and I can’t get a hold of anyone. The office isn’t open when I go to work and they’re closed by the time I get home, otherwise I’d stop by in person."
