"I have a few friends that live in this apartment complex. It never fails in our conversations they always bring up the Management Team and their Incompetence and this includes the Maintenance team. Ladies in the office are rude, aggressive, highly unprofessional, and can’t even spell a name right. This includes the maintenance team. The appliances in this complex are 30 years old so they definitely require a lot of maintenance. Good luck with that. Before you decide to be a tenant please do your research. It would definitely be in a persons best interest."
"I have lived at Yorktown Estates for 23 yrs. It has been my safe haven with wonderful managers and maintenance staff!! The surroundings are beautiful and well maintained. They are always working continually to update and keep us safe( esp. during Covid 19). I have no plans to ever move elsewhere and feel blessed to have lived here this long."
"Maintenance is about the only redeeming quality about this place. My mother has lived here for years and her favorite maintenance tech is getting ready to quit. He's only been there the last 2 years, but he is the heart and soul of this establishment. He always makes sure my mom is doing ok, and has went above and beyond more times than I can count. Hes literally taken my mother's trash out for her after servicing one of her appliances. I've heard hes even gone and got groceries for a man recuperating from surgery!! They have another guy there that's a recent hire, he seems nice enough, but I'm not envious of him and the shoes he has to fill. Now on to management, my mom just found out the property manager quit over Christmas break. We're afraid Kristi is going to take back over, I've heard none of the employees can stand her, and I know for a fact most of the tenants dont like her. I'm definitely going to be pressuring my mom not to renew her lease. They try to call them luxury apartments, but they look like a retirement community. The hot water and heater are tied together in some awful fashion, and my mom is constantly having to have maintenance come and fix pressure valves. I dont care if I have to pay out of pocket, my mother will not be spending another year here. And after reading all the reviews of this property and East Hampton, we're worried she wont be able to get her deposit back. *If you read Abigail's review, keep in mind, it was the maintenance and caretaker that keeps the pool, grounds, and buildings clean. It was also most likely maintenance that took care of her cat. I should say the staff is amazing. Most of our problems arise with dealing with Corportate and Kristi. Like I mentioned before, they just lost another property manager. They cant keep good help because they treat their employees worse than they do us, the residents."
"Don't live here. This place looks nice but they will exploit you. They're trying to charge my friend EVEN MORE even though she's no longer contractually obligated to do so Update!! My friend had these apartments then decided to move out early so she paid out the remainder of her lease which was like 1700$ plus 2 months rent which was another $1640. She paid this to move out early which is ridiculously expensive and not only did they make her keep paying the "shared" water bill and other utility bills for the remainder of the lease she PAID OUT on but even after buying out of the lease and rushing to move out before the 31st of september because they didnt want it to "stay vacant" they're trying to bill her for the shared utility bill and electric AND gas even though they told her if she moved out by 9/23/19 She wouldn't be charged for all of this so she left on 9/20 and the apartment sat VACANT THIS WHOLE TIME."
"My mother lived here. We always paid 6 months in advance. We were paid through August 2019. Called them end of March to tell them my mother was terminal, cancer, did we have any options (they would only release her to assisted living, she couldn't walk) I was told no. My mother passed 4/23/19. I called they didn't care but they made me pay for May and June. Of course they had the money because I prepaid. They called me June 20 to see if I could turn in keys 6/25 even though they charged me through 6/30. I turned my keys in 6/26. I hired a cleaning service to clean their ridiculous list and today received the deposit refund minus 15-20 min per room for "additional cleaning". Seriously even if you die while living there they still want their 2 months of rent plus some. Stay away."
