"Moved out in October after my lease ended but was charged an extra month because they "lost" the vacate notice I provided. I left the apartment in better condition than when I moved in but they still charged a ridiculous cleaning fee. Now I'm being billed by DirecTV a service you are forced to take as part of their "entertainment" package. The equipment was left in the apartment. I have left multiple messages for management and not one phone call has been answered or returned. I did not complain once while living there even though the walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors sneeze and tenants dont pick up after their pets. The add on fees are not explained and are never the same. Just know that if you choose to move in it will cost you upon move out."
"If the unresolved lawsuit against the management company doesn’t concern you, maybe the adverse Yelp reviews further underscore concerns. Regrettably, my experience upon vacating, despite issuing a 30-day notice through text, email, AND physical documentation, was marred by the company’s erroneous overcharging and absence of a returned deposit accompanied by a detailed breakdown. Surprisingly, they seemed unaware of our departure. Multiple interactions with receptionists/managers yielded no resolution, as assurances of impending fixes persist without tangible results, prompting a need for three subsequent visits. I strongly advise exercising caution in considering Pennwood as a residential choice."
"Disgusting apartment. It is impossible to leave our apartment because the snow has NOT been cleaned at all, and the car cannot move. Today, my husband and I have been stuck 3 times, and also helped 2 people with the same problem. In the last 4 days, when it snowed, there wasn't a day when we weren't stuck. The apartment bosses (especially the manager) absolutely do not care about their residents, they see the situation perfectly and do NOTHING. Although all the roads and other apartments of the city have long been cleared The manager is never in the workplace, it is almost impossible to see this red-haired unfriendly woman working. The pool is always dirty. My apartment has a disgusting floor with huge cracks. Also, be prepared for the fact that you will constantly listen to the conversations of your neighbors, since the walls here are very thin. Also, be prepared that your rent will be constantly increased. So we were promised $1800 per month, as a result, for many months we have been receiving a bill for $ 2000 with a bunch of incomprehensible additional bills that the manager is not even able to explain to us. All she knows how to do is smile and play games on her laptop. A completely useless woman."
"I would like to begin by mentioning that the apartments are satisfactory, although not the best. Now, moving on to the main concerns. There have been some issues regarding the management of this place. After moving out in August, we have faced difficulties in paying the fees that were charged for the move-out process. Unfortunately, there was a lack of communication from Chelsea or any member of the management regarding the amount we needed to pay and the rationale behind those charges. I made numerous calls after we moved out, and I was informed that we would receive a mailed itemized list at our new address. However, upon receiving the list, we discovered that it was incorrect, as it included charges for a period extending almost a month beyond when we had returned the keys. When I contacted Pennwood (after several days of not hearing anything), they acknowledged the mistake. However, when I attempted to contact the Greystar number, I did not receive a response. Despite making eight more calls to Pennwood, they stated that there was nothing more they could do and referred me to someone at Greystar. I would have greatly appreciated the opportunity to speak with someone at Greystar. I made calls to the Idaho office, the Sacramento office, and the Seattle office. However, no one answered the phone, and my messages on various voicemail boxes went unanswered. I also tried contacting the corporate office multiple times, with only three successful connections. Unfortunately, I was twice connected to numbers that were no longer in service. Moreover, the only time I received help was when I mentioned the possibility of legal action. I even went as far as contacting lawyers, and although it took some time, I had one prepared in case it became necessary. Paying an additional $2,000 was not something I was willing to do after confirming with CV and Chelsea that everything was in order. However, during that one phone call I was able to make to Greystar, I learned that the reason for these excessive charges was due to Chelsea not submitting the required forms on time, creating the appearance of a late notice to vacate. Chelsea's behavior has been disappointing. She has displayed dismissiveness and rudeness. Additionally, she has exhibited laziness, often leaving the office early. Consequently, it has been difficult to reach anyone after 4pm on most Mondays and Tuesdays, as no one is available. Although it may seem like a strong accusation, I can assure you that I once waited for Chelsea from 4pm to 6pm, only to discover that she had left early without any notice or explanation. Considering all these reasons, along with the subpar administrative work she performed for us, I am genuinely surprised that she is still employed with Greystar. Needless to say I am not happy with Greystar or Pennwood, PLEASE do not move here."
