"NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! We had stayed there a few years ago and it was fine. This time was HORRIBLE. No hot water in the shower. When I complained to the front desk person, he came to the room and then stated to let it run 3-5 minutes. NEVER GOT HOT WATER. Heater sounded like an engine starting up for takeoff. Breakfast was basically ineatible. Morning we left they had out pancakes with hot dogs and hamburgers."
"The customer service was great: We are a little company that is working out of town and got 4 rooms for 3 nights. We are 4 hours away from the office and needed a certain form. Jess was awesome and let us email him a copy and he printed it out for us and made copies! It's the little things. Thank you!"
"This is how I came into our room, the service was friendly and polite. And upon some of the recent reviews I decided to look for myself.(second picture) there were no bed bugs a few warning signs but no actual bugs were found even with further inspection. There was no foul odors. This place has just lost the character and dependability, it’s been through a lot of owners in the past five years even. It’s just falling through the cracks. The phones didn’t even have power and as a woman that strikes a red flag with me not being able to even dial the authorities if needed. I hope this business finds more or better help!"
"This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. As a single woman, travelling alone, safety is my main concern when staying in a hotel, followed by quality of the facilities. My safety was definitely at risk here and I would advise anyone to choose ANY other hotel in McCook. The man working the front desk walked back to my room with me, opened the door himself, and went inside with me holding the key, and asked me if the room was ok. I was so uncomfortable that I just said yes to get him to leave. I immediately left the hotel to go to a store in hopes that I could be in my room by myself when I came back. When I returned, I found out that the exterior doors coming into the hotel from the parking lot are left unlocked 24/7, so anyone can just walk in off the street. I immediately felt unsafe. On the way to my room, I noticed that none of the advertised amenities were in working order. The pool was empty and taped off, the breakfast area looked to be shut down, there was a LOUD laundry room directly next to my room, the ceiling in the lobby was falling down from obvious water damage. In the room, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, and the linens were sandpaper. The bathroom was tiny, dingey, and there were no soaps/toiletries offered at all. Ceiling in the room also had obvious water damage. After I assessed the room without an employee IN my room looking over my shoulder, I decided I felt unsafe and wanted to leave. I grabbed my things and went to the front desk to give my key back and tell them I was leaving. Because the man at the front desk was the same man who followed me to my room, I did not feel comfortable telling him I was unsatisfied and felt unsafe OR that I would be staying in town, so I just told him I had a change of plans and would be leaving town. I asked for a refund and he told me if I would have booked directly through them he would give me one, but since I booked online through Expedia, I had to contact Expedia for a refund. I did, and Expedia was fairly helpful, but ultimately needed confirmation from the hotel to issue me a refund. When Expedia called the hotel, the same man that followed me to my room told them that I didn't mention anything was wrong, just that I had a change of plans. He said he couldn't issue permission for a refund and told them to call back in the morning for a manager. Expedia opened a help ticket for me and tried to contact the hotel for 3 days, with no luck. I was ultimately not issued a refund and now the hotel is avoiding contact regarding this issue. DO NOT STAY HERE."
"This should be a negative 5 star review. I checked in to room 114. There were bedbugs parading out of the pillows when we lifted them to stack them and lean against the headboard. I caught two of them in a baggie and took them to the front desk and told them we weren't staying there and that I wanted a refund. The clerk agreed to the refund. Not only did I not get a refund but they charged me for a 3 night stay. I've called 6 times over the last 3 weeks and twice I spoke to a manger or desk clerk, all assuring me of a refund. Now over 3 weeks later I'm going through the process of a chargeback with my credit card company. Not only was it a huge inconvenience (and cost) to get another hotel late at night during a volleyball tournament but this company is trying to steal from me. I'll fight them to the end, they can't make me pay for a bedbug infested room that I was in for less than an hour."
