"An average C+ spot to buy from and to consign at. Yes the prices are high compared to thrift stores but you have to keep in mind that they don't set the prices - the people who drop off their stuff to be consigned choose the prices. Most of those folks don't seem to understand that customers at these sorts of venues are looking for items cheap - very cheap. Items get consigned for a lot more then they should. But you don't have to buy them either. It's often a treasure hunt - lots of junk or overpriced items but there are some good ones too. That's a big part of the fun. And they reduce the price of most things the longer they sit there. The big issue is consigning your own stuff. That's where it gets messy. The owner Elmo and his wife are very nice. Too nice a lot of the time and they will accept almost anything. They shouldn't because much of it is crap, and if it does sell it will only sell for next to nothing which makes it not worth the effort for anyone involved. The other guy you'll see in these reviews often is named Mike. He's a huge mystery. Very lazy, rude, and will never ever accept anything you try and drop off to consign. I figure he must have saved owner's life back in 'Nam because there is just no other explanation of why they keep him around. I've even taken videos and showed the owner of him sitting around, being rude, and not even being willing to ask what I've got when I've come in to consign something. Basically him sitting there and me saying "I'd like to consign something" and Mike saying "Not going to happen" and me saying "You don't even know what it is - could be super small and not take up any space, but still valuable. You should at least look or even ask what I've got." and Mike saying "Nope - don't care at all". Elmo knows full well he does this and will even defend him if you bring it up. Very odd but its not going to change. SO - if you consign stuff you've got to make sure that either Elmo or his wife will be there when you drop it off. You have to call ahead of time to be certain. Otherwise it won't happen. Mike will refuse it. Next, if it's valuable at all you need to be sure you take pictures and get a receipt in writing. Then check in frequently about a sale. If you don't, the items always tend to have "been taken to Goodwill" or some will have vanished or they won't have a record of ever getting them. I had a nice grandmother clock that sat forever and when I finally went to retrieve it, they claimed it had been left without the key or vital parts like the pendulum. This of course was blatantly false, as Elmo dabbles in clocks and thoroughly checked it over when it was left. Plus even I know that it's virtually useless without those pieces and would have never tried to sell it without them. But since I didn't take any photos, I couldn't prove anything and I left with a worthless shell. Thus be sure you've got photo evidence if there are multiple parts and pieces. Same with fragile items. I wouldn't doubt Mike just tosses stuff around in there like its all made of foam. If anything is damaged during the constant moving from inside to the outside, they will just claim it arrived that way and you're out of luck. In conclusion, I've bought some nice items there on occasion and I've consigned some things as well and made some money. But you do take a risk, and you have to be careful to not deal with Mike. If you go in not having high expectations and you make certain to deal with just the owners, you won't be disappointed - and maybe even pleasantly surprised on occasion."
"Last time I went here it reeked of cigarettes. Would be great if the items were in better shape and better respected in general. However, they sometimes have things you can't find at other places, and they offer sewing machine repair and vacuum repair. Prices are on the high side for some items, more reasonable for others. Best to look for items, in general, at local furniture stores, antique stores, Habitat for Humanity, and pawn shops before looking here but don't rule it out."
"Don't listen to all the reviews from years ago, this place is ridiculous. The furniture prices are so expensive. Half of the things there you can get the exact same thing from Walmart for cheeper. You can’t bargain prices. Just a waste of time and money"
"My go to place for home furnishings and stuff with super friendly customer service. Only reason I 4 star rated is because not everyone can get through due to the large inventory, which I guess isn't a problem, just makes finding your elderly parents good used furnishings a bit difficult if they aren't able to shimmy and squeeze by stuff to go look themselves. Check it out if you need great stuff for even greater prices!!"
"They have plenty of furniture here but the prices are very steep. If the items in this shop were in better condition then the prices might be justifiable."
